Problem with Texture libraries

Recommended Posts

I have just started using Vectorworks and I am having trouble using textures. When I go to the texture libraries and choose a texture, the symbols that appear in the resource browser are not there, and if they are the are spherical shapes with small dimples on them. If I apply the texture to a wall and render it the drawing either comes up all white or sometimes grey. Any suggestions??

i'm not sure about the symbols not appearing in your resource browser but as far as the rendered drawing coming up white or grey. it sounds like you have not applied any lighting to your document. i.e. the layer ambient or sun position.

If the drawing is all white, you may have too many lights; gray may be due to no lights, or the light orientaion not pointing towards the object properly.

Also, make sure the objects you are applying the texture to have a solid fill.

Can you please clarify "the symbols that appear in the resource browser are not there, and if they are the are spherical shapes with small dimples on them"?

Thanks
