mkhd Posted September 6, 2022 Share Posted September 6, 2022 Hello everybody, I have a wood facade with about 2000 objects (all the same) that I want to separate into 10 different randomized materials/ layers. The Idea is to apply later 10 different wood materials in my render engine to make a more realistic look. Hope you guys know what I mean. Please see attached image I just created by manually assigning different layers to the objects to 2D objects. The original objects are in 3D. Quote Link to comment

Or do you just need a way to identify which are in each of the 10 randomization groups and have a way to select the objects in each group. To me this is better done using a record and a field to hold the "randomization group" for the object. Quote Link to comment
