aaicher Posted September 3, 2022 Share Posted September 3, 2022 Hi There… We're a small lighting design company, working with VW-Architect We would like to have some scripts developed for Vectorworks and are therefore looking for a freelance developer. The Task We assign different luminaire control groups. We give these groups an address. On site the luminaire will be programmed to these groups by the electrician (via the DALI protocol). For this purpose, the first thing we do at the moment is to draw the luminaire in the plan. Later in the planning process we add the mentioned groups to the plan. For this we connect the luminaire symbols with a polyline. The polyline is then labeled with the group number (e.g. ID_153), which is also a symbol. Since we manage all luminaires in an external database, we now want to assign this group number to each luminaire (entry in symbol record). Currently we do this by hand, which is very time consuming and error prone. The Script / Plugin The script should use this drawn connection and assign the group value to all connected luminaire and make the entry in the corresponding database on each connected luminaire.
