Catproofing Tool

Mostly I find it endearing that my cat likes to watch me work, but sometimes it can get a little tiresome. My feature request: a cat-proofing tool, possibly part of a larger pet-and-children-proofing toolset in the yet to be introduced Premium-Work-From-Home subscription package.

 

Clicking behavior: multiple

 

Proposed workflow:

1. select tool. It looks like this 🐾.
2. Select tool mode. I suggest three modes, "gentle shoo", "stern git!", and "angry dog", each of which creates varying degrees of discomfort. 
3. Clicking once creates a sharp noise only audible to cats and grows in intensity with each subsequent click.
4. Click as many times as necessary until desired level of repellency is achieved.
5. Continue working.

It’s probably easier to switch to dogs 😉

 

Then, you can take them on a walk when doing site model updates and other slow, seemingly single core processes.  Cats do not offer this useful feature.

How about when this mode is engaged, if multiple adjacent keys that normally don’t have any commands associated with them are depressed, for over one second, a pop up says “Would you like to hold all work until password is entered?”.
My new kitten likes to sit on the keyboard.

Perhaps an overall "Cat Supervision" mode as part of the complete toolset. 

 

Mine has since been promoted to Chief Executive Officer, due to her talent for sitting around looking important and delaying projects by several days when she tries to "help."
