IFC4 - Demolition

shorter

Question

Just looking for assignment of 'phasing' or 'status' in the Pset_xyzCommon property set, and see in IFC4 there is an allowance for:

ATTENDANCE: Attendance or waiting on other things happening
CONSTRUCTION: Constructing or building something
DEMOLITION: Demolishing or breaking down something
DISMANTLE: Taking something apart carefully so that it can be recycled or reused
DISPOSAL: Disposing or getting rid of something
INSTALLATION: Installing something (equivalent to construction but more commonly used for engineering tasks)
LOGISTIC: Transporation or delivery of something
MAINTENANCE: Keeping something in good working order
MOVE: Moving things from one place to another
OPERATION: A procedure undertaken to start up the operation an artifact
REMOVAL: Removal of an item from use and taking it from its place of use
RENOVATION: Bringing something to an 'as-new' state

whereas VW2022 only allows for:

NEW

EXISTING

DEMOLISH

TEMPORARY

OTHER

NOTKNOWN

UNSET

Why do we not have the full gamut of attributes?  WIll this change in 2023?

Ah ok. I misunderstood you. You want to have the IfcTaskTypeEnum attached to your door, right? Vectorworks is indeed a bit limited when it comes to IfcTypes. IfcTime is also not supported. I think at the moment only the mvd "reference view 1.2" is supported.

Ah ok. Afaik it's something that Archicad and Revit do natively in there respective software and people confuse it with it being supported by ifc. 🙄 Therefor they assume all programms are supporting it. Archicad is creating a custom pset for this information in ifc2x3.

Yes.  So I believe.  So looks like we will do the same for IFC2x3.  Easily done.
