Nemetschek North America Announces VectorWorks Machine Design 12

Columbia, Maryland (October 12, 2005)?Nemetschek North America announced today the release of VectorWorks Machine Design 12 complete with a variety of new features and substantial product improvements allowing users to work faster and smarter than ever before. VectorWorks Machine Design, formerly VectorWorks Mechanical, has been renamed to more accurately reflect its target market-- design firms, machine shops, and metal fabricators.

Robert Anderson, Vice President, Integrated Products, Nemetschek North America states,? VectorWorks Machine Design 12 demonstrates our unwavering commitment to our users to simplify their workflow and to really make the program function more efficiently and intuitively for them.?

VectorWorks Machine Design boasts a wealth of new features, including a complete set of ISO fasteners to go with the existing ASME inch, metric and DIN fasteners. A new universal Fastener tool cuts down on the time it takes to place fastener objects in drawings. New 3D machine parts means users no longer have to create objects from scratch, as 2D objects now have a corresponding 3D object. VectorWorks Machine Design also offers live sections, which allows users to create section views directly from a 3D model that update automatically as their model changes. An additional important feature is viewports and section viewports which allow a user to create a 2D drawing directly from a 3D model.

"We have been using VectorWorks since MiniCAD 3+,? says Pat Stanford, President, Coviana, Inc. ?During that time we have relied on VectorWorks for all of our design requirements. We use VectorWorks for both 2D process design and detailed 3D models of complex water treatment equipment. Version 12 of VectorWorks will further enhance our productivity. The 3D modeling tools are faster. The new tool palettes greatly improve the interface, allowing us to have ready access to the tools we need. The Fastener tool allows us to rapidly and accurately locate any standard fastener we need in both 2D and 3D. The 3D modeling capabilities of VectorWorks, coupled with the ease of layout using Sheet Layers, allows us to rapidly develop a drawing for different purposes from a single model. We develop both construction documents and marketing materials directly from the 3D model. For our company, VectorWorks is the CAD solution."
