Lauren posted a topic in AnnouncementsGlobal design and BIM software solutions provider Vectorworks, Inc. reveals its two can’t-miss keynotes during the 2018 Vectorworks Design Summit: Antoine Predock, architect at Antoine Predock Architect, and Vectorworks CEO Dr. Biplab Sarkar. Vectorworks invites professionals, educators and students in the AEC, landscape and entertainment industries to attend the fourth annual event, which will take place November 4 to 6, 2018 at the Sheraton Grand at Wild Horse Pass in Phoenix, Ariz. Led by Sarkar, the “Vectorworks CEO keynote” will take place on Monday, November 5 at 9 a.m. Sarkar will focus on the company’s strategic vision and direction regarding current trends and future technology. Additionally, attendees will get a closer look at the new technologies in the latest software version, Vectorworks 2019, from the research and development leaders that made them possible. “Unlike our competition that develops products for a single industry, we have the advantage of being able to innovate across multiple industries and serve a broad array of designers. This gives us an advantage in that we can see and embrace innovations that they cannot,” said Vectorworks CEO Dr. Biplab Sarkar. “Year after year, the Vectorworks Design Summit is the best place to learn how Vectorworks has advanced and to get up and running with our latest technology.” On Tuesday, November 6 at 9 a.m., Predock will deliver the second keynote, titled “Site Specificity and the Aura of Globalization.” His speech will educate attendees on how they must tune into the context of the people and vibe of a place and how the connection to those conditions can lead to unbelievable things in design. Predock will share his experience balancing the physical and digital sides of design. Predock will also talk about his wide-ranging projects, from the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, which is now featured on the Canadian ten dollar bill, to the Northwestern University in Qatar (NU-Q), a College of Media and Communications, to the Luxe Lake Gateway and Art Center in Chengdu, China. A Vectorworks user for 25 years, Predock will explain how the software played a role in these projects. In addition to these two inspiring keynotes, the conference will include 90+ industry sessions and workshops, one-on-one tech support, networking events and hands-on training. Multiple sessions will offer continuing education credits. Secure your spot at the ultimate training event and register today by visiting vectorworks.net/design-summit. Lauren posted a topic in AnnouncementsFor the fourth year in a row, global design and BIM software developer Vectorworks, Inc. invites design professionals, educators and students in the architecture, landscape and entertainment industries to the annual Vectorworks Design Summit. The Summit will take place from November 4 to November 6, 2018 in Phoenix, Arizona at the Sheraton Grand at Wild Horse Pass, and this ultimate training experience will consist of industry workshops, inspirational design and networking. “The architecture and landscape in Arizona are very different from the city backdrops we have had in the last three years, and I think our customers will enjoy getting away from the hustle and bustle of their daily lives to enjoy this scenic desert location,” said Nicole Davison, vice president of sales at Vectorworks, who is originally from Tucson. “The weather in November will be beautiful and allow us to network outside and enjoy the mountains, sun and native Arizona landscape.” Located in the Sonoran Desert, the Sheraton Grand at Wild Horse Pass celebrates the Gila River Indian heritage and culture, offering a quiet serenity combined with a high-tech hotel experience. Attendees are encouraged to extend their stay and enjoy everything the resort has to offer, including an 18-hole golf course, horseback riding, a world-class spa and much more. Become a Speaker/Trainer The call for speakers and trainers at the Vectorworks Design Summit is currently open. Presentations should be one or two hours and cover best practices, efficiency gains, tips, tricks or techniques that streamline workflows and empower designers to create innovative design solutions. In addition to completing a short application, candidates who have not spoken at a past Design Summit must include a short video demonstrating their presentation skills. Proposals are due February 21, 2018, and those chosen will be notified March 9, 2018. Become an Exhibitor/Sponsor Businesses can promote their products and services to hundreds of creative visionaries across the architecture, landscape and entertainment industries by becoming an exhibitor/sponsor at the Summit. There is no fee to exhibit in the Expo Hall, and businesses can apply and also ask about sponsorship pricing here.
