  1. Hi Community, Is there some shortcut to deactivate all active title blocks in one file without going into Title block manager and select all sheets and then deactivate? Maybe @Nikolay Zhelyazkov do you have some tip - shortcut to quickly deactivate all presently active title blocks?
  2. Hello, Is there a way to display both Name and Size within the same Title Block? as of now I have linked text that displays each sheet size name and then have to enter custom text for the size. In the Title Block Manager under Sheet Size Name I see options for Name and Size but not both. Also, I want the unit in "Inches" but when I choose this option it displays decimals up to 3 places. e.g. "24.000/18.000" Would be fantastic if I could customize it to show "US Arch C 18x24"
  3. Help we have a new issue that is plaguing us. We have our title block styles within our workgroup and we use a library file in there to keep title blocks / classes etc current for everyone. Just recently, whenever our 'Library Standards' reference file is updated where the title block styles live, our drawings lose all the Project Data (project name, project ID and a bespoke Client name field) and these fields revert to defaults, but the individual sheet data is retained. This is not a class issue, as re-entering the project data will display it until the next reference update. This is definitely new behaviour, has worked seamlessly before. In editing title block, link value and parameters appear correct. Any ideas what has gone wrong? Vectorworks 2022, sp5, problem apparent across a number of different Macs, both M1 and intel processors.
  4. Hello - Is there such a thing as a Date Stamp and / or Time Stamp that I can place on my custom title blocks? Rather than entering this information manually, I'd like there to be a field on my title block that updates automatically every time I create a PDF or Publish. I have found the "Data Stamp" tool but have not found good instructions regarding how to use this to create a simple date stamp as described. I seem to remember a simple "Date Stamp" tool in older versions of VW... Thanks -
  5. Hello, I'm using Vectorworks Architect 2020 SP5, and I have chronic issues with my title blocks. These occur regularly in multiple files, and I've tried rebuilding the title blocks (convert to group, then create new symbol) but to no avail. Here are the issues: Issue #1) At random, the title block wanders waaaaaay off from the page. The perimeter around the page remains and is selectable, but the actual title block geometry and text have moved far off to the right and (oddly enough) the three data stamps for plot date & file name tend to wander waaaay off to the left. To fix this, I go to edit title block layout for the TB style, and often it appear fine in edit mode, and just closing edit without changing anything will make it reappear correctly. Other times, when I edit the title block layout, it has moved off the page and I move it back again, where it stays... for a while before wandering off again. Issue #2) When it isn't wandering off, the title block sometimes just becomes invisible. Still selectable, was fine a minute ago and I haven't touched it since, but the text and lines have suddenly vanished. The workaround fix here is to select the title block and click "Make all attributes by class" in the Attributes window. This causes the title block to reappear, then I "undo" and it is still visible but with the attributes as they should be (i.e. prior to "Make all attributes by class" and prior to being invisible). What gives? This is driving me bananas and it a frustrating waste of time. The strangest thing is that these issues occur when I'm not working on the title blocks at all. I go back to sheet view from some other work in the file, and the title block has gone for a hike or is dabbling with invisibility (this is not a class visibility issue - I checked that!). Any help would be much appreciated! Attached images: 1) the wandering title block 2) The invisible-but-selectable title block 3) I've selected the tb and clicked "Make all attributes by class" 4) After command-Z undo of "Make all attributes by class" - this is what is was supposed to look like all along, better it went invisible.
  6. Requesting the ability to zoom and pan within preview windows so that the preview tool is a little more useful. Having zoom and pan as an ability for any In-Window preview would be amazing (I.e., resource manager previews), however, the big request for me is to have it work for title blocks. For example: As you update your sheet data / project data in real time in the Title Block Border Settings, it's great that you can check the "Zoom in to the Title Block" - however, on smaller screens or laptops, it's a totally useless feature.
  7. For anyone else who hasn't figured this out yet: I've noticed that the File Name in project data (for Title Blocks) doesn't always refresh or populate properly. If you go into Title Block Border Settings --> Project Data and then cycle the "Include file path in File Name" button, it will refresh and show the proper name. Seeing this as a problem in all files... so I imagine this is a bug?
  8. I am a garden designer and use different layers for the differing components: Planting plan, Hard landscaping, Site Plan etc etc. I set the title block up for the document but get into trouble when I start printing sheets. I often use a sheet each for Planting Plans, Another for Bulb Overlay and another for the Presentation Plan. Each has a viewport using a range of the layers including the title block. Often for planting I use a different scale so that I can zoom in on a bed. I can't find a way to amend the title block for each sheet so that it has a different reference and also a different scale. Is there a way or can I only rely on the viewport drawing title and associated scales? In short the title block would change reference and scale according to the viewport details. Though the design layer with the title block is part of the viewport which I imagine is part of my problem. This is driving me mad as I can't find a way to use a different title block on each layer either so I feel a little stuck other than putting various on everything which seems to defeat the purpose of the title block functionality. Thanks all
  9. Hi everyone, Is there a way to customize the reports one creates via the Title Block Manager? The reports I mean are the Project Revision and Issue History Reports. I'd like to place them all in the same sheet layer but I don't want the company info to be repeated in the three reports. I would very much appreciate a hand. I've tried editing this file: "Libraries\Defaults\Reports_Schedules\Title Block Reports.vwx" and then placing the edited file in my user folder under application support but I've had no success. Hope someone knows how to do it! I leave the part of the VW manual that has info on what I'm talking about: http://app-http://app-help.vectorworks.net/2019/eng/index.htm#t=VW2019_Guide%2FSetup%2FProject_Revision_and_Issue_History_Worksheets.htm&rhsyns=
  10. Hi, My current plot date short format in VW is MM/dd/yy but my computer regional settings are dd/MM/yy. any way to point VW to my own pc's regional settings? Thank you VW: PC:
  11. Hey All I want to ask, if it impossible to read or write to/from the Title Block - Database? I have try it like this: But it didn't work... Did i do something wrong or it is impossible? Greetings KroVex
  12. So I'm just a serious VW amateur, but the ranking user in my company, and have been working my way through creating standards and templates for the other guys on the team to use. One main thing is the title block, which I got working in 2017, but 2019 is throwing me for a total loop. I have all the records properly attached, linked, and formatted, but now no matter what I do, or where I update them from (OIP or Title Block Manager) there is no change to the block when I exit the dialog boxes. I tried attaching my files for reference, but the uploads keep failing, so here are links: Title Block 2019 - WIP v2019.vwx https://1drv.ms/u/s!Aiiiy0SsKb71iKU9FSQOnnOhXa4cYg SmartSource 2019 General Template.sta https://1drv.ms/u/s!Aiiiy0SsKb71iK8dqumpTfVkAl8yvw I greatly and humbly appreciate any insight into what I'm missing or doing wrong. 13. Hey folks, I have a custom Title Block that has a text box for the Sheet Title. Is it possible to have this text scale based on how wide it is? See the two screenshots attached where the first labeled "Speaker Plot" fits just fine, but the second one labeled "Speaker Plot Annotated" is so wide is goes out of the bounds of my Title Block. It would be great if the text could shrink, wrap, or something. Thanks, GW
  14. I created a custom title block and added it to the Standard Title Block File but it does not show up as an option in the Import Title Block Tool, only the other blocks in that file.
  15. I am so over the 2019 title block. Anyone know why some fields entered in the Project Data won't show up in the Project Data edit menu, but do show in the Title Block Manager. I included 3 new fields; Client Name Event In Event Out Item 1 appears and is editable in both menu scenarios. Items 1 n& 2 only appear in Title Block Manger. I'm missing something, damned if I know what though. H
  16. So I set up a custom title block based own Andy's description and seems to "kind" of work. When I change sheet name or number in the title block the layer list and the drawing list worksheet follows (after "recalculate). When I do similar change in the layer list it also changes the title block and the drawing list worksheet (after "recalculate). However, when I change the drawing list only title block follows the changes after flipping forth to another layer and back. So what I end up having is a title block tied to layer list with different names. In a nutshell everything is working in all direction except the worksheet not being able to change the data in layer list. Wondering if anybody has stumbled upon this problem.
  17. Hi there I have a title block and in this title block I have a field, that tells which revision the drawing is in (see picture below) But when I create the revision and select "apply Revision Data to : All Active sheets" Theres is a problem The revision line on top of the title block is correct on all sheets, but the field in the title block is not correct. on the sheets where i stand, when i creating the revision is correct with "A" (see picture above" but in the remains sheets the field say "none" (see picture below.
  18. Hi, I have created my own custom title block. It has a field where the file name is, this field contains a file stamp that gets its information from the actual file name. When I insert this title block on a new drawing in my project, the file name field is correct filled. But if i change the file name and open the file do the old file name still appear in the "file name" field. The other day i discovered that if I mark a title block and then uncheck the "This title block is active" box and the check it again, the file name stamp is updating on all drawings. BUT is it possible to force this field to automatic update the file name, if there has been a file name update? I work in a quite big department, and I am afraid that not everyone remember to do the "uncheck and check" thing.
  19. Importing existing files from pre-2019 seems to make the title block manager system even more unstable than with a new sheet. I have had to re-input every drawing number over a dozen times as they all revert back to previous numbers when opening an individual title block. Best wait for a patch for this disastrous feature before using it. I cannot trust the title block manager system from 2019 to retain any information correctly and would recommend keeping well clear of it. The title blocks can however be ungrouped once initially set for a project and this will give the ability to change the individual sheet information easily (as normal text boxes) and so be reasonably sure it will not change back at random...it is also far quicker than using the Manager system feature. I can only assume that whoever invented the latest tilteblock feature had no idea about the commercial reality of getting drawings done quickly and accurately but was wrapped up in providing a new 'functionality' gimmick...which would be forgivable perhaps if it worked!
  20. Hi All, I was hoping someone could show me a way of replicating this in VW2017 using my own custom title blocks and NOT the VAA ones (that workflow is too convoluted and I'm not sure they can be customised). Revit has a Revision dialogue box that includes all revisions for the project (image 01). This dialogue also allows for revisions to have numbers or letters or none (for internal issues). It can also have clouds (linked to that revision number) to show or not show. Image 02 shows each sheet can have it's own set of revisions (based off of the revision database list in image 01). Image 03 shows the main drawing revision automatically updated to the latest revision from the revision list for that drawing. Image 04 shows Revision Clouds linked to a revision. Once a cloud is placed onto a sheet, that sheet automatically gets that revision placed in the revision list
  21. Can we please get the ability to drag and reorder these data fields on the project data and sheet data fields without deleting and recreating.
  22. I have this issue where there are old title blocks in my resource browser that are no longer in the sheet borders-title blocks file folder in the system folder. It is now confusing when making changes to the current title block. My naming system is mostly to blame, but if the old ones didn't show up and just the new one it would be bit easier. Is there a way to clear the old ones from the browser? Why are they still there if I deleted them from the system folder? I was looking at the purge tool but I am worried that I will cause problems with the file.
  23. When adding 'issue data' title block uses the default date format mm.dd.yy rather than UK standard dd.mm.yy. Can the default be changed? Have looked in VW prefences can't see anything... Drawing stamp function is useful; would be even better if you could add 'custom' so it can be easily selected on all sheets.
  24. When updating the value of the 'Sheet Title' on my Title Block Border, via the Title Block Border Settings I am experiencing a continuous live refresh of the title block with each character entered. This prompts me to enter my title slower to ensure I'm typing the correct description. If I modify the sheet title via the Sheet Layers tab in the Organization window this of course is a non issue. Has anyone else experienced this problem?
  25. Hi All, I am hoping that the ingenuity of this forums inhabitants can help me once again with some title block issues. We are using the automated title block coordination, and have made a custom title block which for the most part works very well. We are using 'Issue Numbers' (rather than 'Revision Numbers'), displayed twice on the title block. In one instance we want to show only the Latest issue number (this is essentially forming the sheets titles, which would be for instance AL(0)210.B1, the '.B1' being the current issue number). At the other instance we want to show All (or at least multiple) Issue numbers (this shows the various changes that have been made to the drawing over various past drawing issues). The attached screenshot shows it more clearly. Can anybody tell me how to achieve this?? Thanks! A
