  1. Currently, after drawing a seating aisle path, the only way to edit it is in a mode which hides everything else. This makes editing a drawn path near-impossible, and it is often easier to just delete the path and draw it again, since one is often drawing around existing objects in the drawing. The aisle tool should allow edits to the drawn path that do not hide everything else. Even better, there need not be a separate mode for editing them - it would be fewer clicks if, like many other objects, selecting them would bring up resize handles. Same for seating sections.
  2. I am trying to create a seating layout using the seating tool which is just fine for regular seating but there is a Covid requirement for no more than 4 seats together with a 4 seat space in each row. Each block of 4 can not have seats behind it or in front of it - see attached . To make things even harder the seating is concentric with reducing radius's for every row. So far the only way I can figure out how to do this is to create the full block then manually edit it and delete seats which is time consuming and does not maximise the number of seats within the boundary. If anyone can offer a suggestion I would be most grateful as I am stumped.
  3. hello all, I have been handed a project to auto count seating sections and because of covid restrictions, the seating arrangements that the venue have, in conjunction with their ticketing system cannot (yet) handle the different variations. For instance, for every group of visitors that are in the same "bubble" and who would be allowed to sit together, one seat on either side has to be free. At the moment, this is going to be done manually - yes yes, a right pain in the neck - but I am looking for a way that I can tag each seating section with the different totals of seats, and also the total number of seats. Can I style the tag to recognise the differing symbols that I have used in each section? In my attached example, the seat symbols are; black - normal red - free green - sold Am I going about this in the correct/most logical way? As always, any help greatly appreciated 🙂
  4. I am so sorry that I have no idea what I'm doing with these chairs, but I thank you all for your patience and help. This time, I pretty much just need to number my seats, however, the seating tool was not at all doing what I needed it to be doing so I switched over to just using an array and editing from there. However, now it seems that you can't number them or that I can't convert the section I made into a section Vectorworks likes. So basically, from here, I'm not sure if I need to scrap the array and go back to fighting with the seating tool or if there's a few crucial steps I'm missing. Thanks again!
  5. Hi, Im trying to add a data visualization on a seating section. I can't get it to stick when I exit the group. I tried to add it without going into the group, it doesn't work. What am I doing wrong? Any help Is appreciated:) Cheers Ola DataViz Seating Section.mp4
  6. Hi, We have used the vectorworks tool "seating layout" and "tabels and chairs", when it exports to IFC it makes the file huge. With chairs/tables 150MB without 10MB. Would think that the built in tools that automaticaly has IFC entity should be sutable for exporting, whitout sky rocketing the file size. Improvements on the way? This is with VW2016 Ida
  7. I'm willing to bet this is simple, but it's not the first time I've encountered it. I lay out an area, convert to seating layout and I get 3 rows of seats. We know that only two rows can fit - so, I've changed the size of the seating area, I've tried changing the row spacing... it will jump from 3 rows, to 1 row. I cannot get it to display 2 rows.
