  1. VWX 2022 SP5 A door PIO causes a filled arc of radius equal to the radius of the round wall. The same result when the plugin is is set to "opening only". The filled arc is not visible on Top view...but is visible in a horizontal section VP. Any help or observations gratefully received. Tthe colour of arc-fill is random, so not related to the classes of wall, components or the door itself. 221216 300_11 Forum Submission.vwx
  2. The wall fit to objects dialog includes an interval parameter for round walls. Data value seems be numeric rather than unit? So what is meaning of the interval? Vwx HELP only identifies this as the increment. Neither term is explained or illustrated, nor is there indication of effect of higher or lower values vs 0. Is this the number of points made with even division of the round wall length? Or a length of the segment between fit vertices? Or? My tests with adjusting the interval number when fitting a round wall to stepped geometry above either fail or fail worse depending on value in the interval field. Solution is to revert to manually adding wall peaks? -B
  3. Hi. I've got a head scratcher: I have a laser scan of an existing stair rail, and I want to model closely what is there, so a new rail cap can be fabricated to fit. I can easily trace the edges of the wall in plan view, but when it comes to creating the sweep, I'm stuck. The highlighted object is a nurbs curve, which is reasonably close to the top edge of the existing wall, but doesn't follow the surface of the extrude, as it was drawn separately. The round wall tool works, sort of. If one were able to convert a polyline into a round wall object, then I could probably use the sweep degree to get reasonably close, but because the existing wall was handmade, it will never be exact. I'm imagining there is a way to project the nurbs curve onto the solid to trim it, but I'm not familiar enough with these operations to figure it out. If anyone can point me towards a tool or a technique for this type of geometry, I would appreciate it immensely!
  4. Hi All, I'm having an issue where the round/arched walls in my building are not displaying a solid fill correctly. In the screen shot below I have three bay windows on the south side (N is up); you'll see the two round walls on the left show an entire circle filled in even though the wall is only narrow arch, and the bay window to the right is showing a white filled ring. Currently the walls are set to "unstyled" but I have had them set to "10" generic" with a simple fill and had the same issue. I have tried re-modeling them as unstyled, styled, and replacing the style. When I first draw the wall it appears correct, it is not until I switch views and come back to my floor plan that the filed circles/rings reappear (which makes me think this is a bug). I did create saved views for my plans but I have navigated to them without using the "saved view' drop down to ensure it is not a weird visibility setting. In the plan it is not a big deal to just give the walls no fill but this causes my 3D views and elevations to not render correctly, any advice is welcomed! I'm running Vectorworks 2020 on a iMac 🙂
  5. Created an opening in a round wall by inserting a door and configuring for "Opening" and choosing top shape as "Round". OpenGL displays hatching(?) of the arched opening outside of the curve of the wall. Other render modes do not show these extension lines. How can I make all these little lines disappear in OGL? Thanks! -B
