  1. Recently created some VW2018 assets using 3d IGES data as downloaded from Morgan Furniture (UK) 'Seville' range (www.morganfurniture.co.uk/collection/seville). It took a little while so I thought I'd share the benefit. Process followed to create them: 2d & 3d data is 'as imported' from the Manufacturer (IGES/ IGS files), ie. not edited or optimized (beware, in some instances the 3d and 2d plans differ slightly in overall size) Objects & symbols on class 'none' & texture as 'Texture-1' Insertion point/ origin located to the front centre of 3d object Symbol created for each furniture item Feedback/ constructive comments very much appreciated! PS - I produced these for my own use so have tried to make them as easy to use and accurate as I can. If you decide to use them, please satisfy yourself that they reflect the products; you use the data at your own risk. 20181117_Morgan_Seville.vwx
  2. Is there a method anyone has used for hybrid symbols or objects to inherit space properties? I would like to shortcut the lengthy and error prone effort of manually assigning room numbers or names to furniture records (which is my current method) to enable worksheets with room-by-room (i.e. space-by-space) take off. I hope I am not alone in this requirement?
  3. What is the best i.e. most effective, efficient and manageable way to draw furniture using Vectorworks architect BIM on a large 500 apartment project? This is includes bathrooms, kitchens, beds, chairs and tables, which will all be identically replicated 100s of times and are likely to require ongoing editing. We will need to show them on GA plans at 1:50, but not necessarily on the section drawings. We also need to provide kitchen and bathroom layouts at 1:20. Should we reference these directly from the same model or draw these separately? Thanks
  4. Hello. I'm studying Interior Design. I didn't have a built-in options to add a furniture in my project, so I downloaded one from here. But I can't activate it. I want to place some tables, a sofa, I want to change a table color and so on. Please tell me how can I fix this? Thank you in advance! - Bobby
  5. Any advice over 'best' file format to use to bring objects (furniture and sanitaryware in this particular case) into VW2017. Of the manufacturers I'd like to use, Revit families are most popular, & skp, and some ifc's. I created some from a manufacturer's 3d dwg's (Morgan furniture), looked perfect but there was something in them that VW just didn't seem to like. Successful methodologies/ hints/ tips for creating good quality VW models from manufacturer's models most effectively (ie. with minimum of re-modelling & time) from other file formats would be appreciated.
