  1. It would be nice if the break line too had a fill that neatly obscured the drawn details.
  2. I like the introduction of the Display detail levels in 2019, but do miss the old 'on/off' switch for wall components to display in a viewport. I'd like to see this returned as a simple control because: 1. Less prone to error/less opaque (If I turn the detail level down to low, what else may turn off in my drawing without me noticing it..?) 2. More customisability. You may want to display a viewport without the wall details, but with other details showing.
  3. How detailed can BIM go? Maybe it's because I use Vectorworks for product design, and we model everything in 3D to precise detail, which forms the basis for manufacturing and assembly drawings, but I find the BIM components restrictive and low on detail. Maybe this is the point? That the BIM model is a 'diagram' and not the real thing, appropriate for 1:20 scale but not particularly detailed at 1:2? Do I need to work within the simplistic representations of BIM components, and the configurable settings on offer, in order to benefit from their functionality? Or can I push the detail further? And how is the best way to achieve this? For example, on a simple panelled door, I can't add chamfered beading to the panels on the leaf settings. On a top hung casement window, I can't add a rebate and have the opening window further out than the fixed glazing below. I can't seem to edit the BIM components to what they actually are in reality. Do I need to change my mindset - that this isn't reality?! Do I need to adjust my thinking of what BIM is - an intelligent model, with elements which are 'generic representations' - or can refine and add detail to my hearts content, and what is the best way of doing this? Can BIM be as flexible as 3D modelling, or is this just 3D modelling and BIM is something else?!
  4. Hello everyone, I'm just trying to set a cup of wall/roof details. I have 2 questions 1) between roof and wall components VW allows us to set the connection between a specified roof component and a part of a wall. But sometimes I need to set a roof component between a specified wall component not detectable with the wall style components options. In fact, if I have more than 3 wall components (internal, main component, external) I can't select a specific option. 2) if I need to decide the visualization order of component inside a wall or a roof, how can I do this? Thank you and a good work Z Componenti_tetto.vwx
  5. I use a 4" high outer component to a wall as a base which I show in 3D but not in 2D using class visibility. When I turn on the "hide details" toggle in 2D the wall does not respect the width of the wall with the base class turned off. I suspect this is by design as the graphic is likely for the entire wall but it is not expected.

  7. Please, Vectorworks, how this option is still missing, when you use the Exterior Wall detail option in the windows It just works in Top/Plan view But when you switch to Perspective we have this, why?
