  1. Hi all, I’m hoping to call upon your collective expertise, I’ve a model of a small house extension, and I’d like to experiment with adding data to building elements like walls, floor and roofs etc. id really like to learn how I can tag a wall type to hold its data, like 60 or 30 minutes fire resistance. I’d also like to record its acoustic properties say 46 or 42dB for example, and a simple way of recording the uvalue of the wall type for some external walls as I build up my specifications. my idea is that I can colour code wall performances using data visualisation… and I’d like to experiment with additional properties I’d tag in wall types such as existing to be retained, existing to be refurbished, existing to be demolished, and new build. anyone know how I’d get started in this, if you can give me a few tips or a link to a tutorial that would be great. I don’t know how to add custom properties to elements, and I’m not sure what I should be looking for… is it record formats? Or object records…? I’m confused. your help and guidance is much appreciated. thanks all
  2. I am having trouble finding a guide on creating plug in objects. I have built 20ish scripts that all work fine and would like to build a plug in object similar to the built in Reference Marker tool with custom parameters and layout. Can someone point me at a step by step guide or supply sample code I can look at? Thanks so Much
  3. We use Linear Materials quite a bit. But we can't edit the attributes of the stipples / poche that is used for them however. For instance, the Gyp. Bd. (detail) material, the line weight is too heavy for the poche, and when plotted the graphic is just too heavy. Stipples and poche's should be the lightest line weights in a drawing typically. There needs to be a way to edit the attributes of the fills, just as you can for hatches. DevlinArchLinMaterial.pdf
  4. I can't seem to figure out how to tell if one of the parameters of a script has been changed for the first time. I thought I remembered an "OnEvent" function but I can't seem to find it any more in the Script Function Reference. So I have a popup window in my Object Info Palette where the user can select a symbol from the list. If the user selects a different symbol I need to change some of the default parameters within the PIO. After that the user can adjust those defaults as needed, but these defaults are only changed by the script if the user selects a different symbol from the list. If the script has to be executed again, but the symbol has not changed then the defaults will not reset. Make sense? Dave
  5. I've created a PIO that has a popup window in the Object Info Palette where the user can select from a handful of different symbols to use within the PIO. Below are a few lines of the script that are giving me problems: IF PSymObj='6'' Round w/ 2ppl' THEN BEGIN [Checks to see if the Popup window in the Obj.Info.Palette = '6'' Round w/ 2ppl'] SymbolName:=('Table 72" round-2ppl (sv)'); [Sets string variable] sysbeep; [The beep tells me if the script even enters into this IF/THEN statement] DefDist:=132"; [Sets REAL variable] END; When I run this script, I've haven't been able to get the script to accept that the value (PSymObj='6'' Round w/ 2ppl' ) is true, and then executes the THEN part. The only thing I can imagine is that the '' or the / in the name are causing the problems. Has anyone else experienced this problem? When PSymObj='Chair (sv)' it runs fine. Any thoughts?
