  1. It would be useful to be able to combine 'align and scale' in a single command. This would be extremely beneficial when overlaying imported files (images / pdf's etc) onto a model. The current scale is very 'brute force' and only scales up from the centre of an object meaning that even if you exactly what scale to apply, you have to manually reposition and potentially rotate etc. to get the correct overlay. I don't like quotuing old AutoCAd commands - but this has been around for decades, you can select the scale origin and select by distance on a drawing or entered data; it even aligns 2D objects to 3D planes (something the 3D rotate should be able to do).
  2. Good afternoon folks, I'm wondering if this is possible. I'm creating a door schedule and to do so, I place copies of all the doors on their own DL and space them out with 36" between them. I then make an elevation VP and use that in conjunction with a worksheet to create the schedules. My question is, is there a way to space them out by 36" without having to do it one by one? The Align>Spacing command doesn't work as it adjusts the spacing from to even it out. If all the doors were the same width, a quick calculation would tell me that the string of doors would be X" + Y spaces of 36" and I could put the first and last door to those dimensions and hit the Align>Spacing. But doors are not all the same width, especially in renovations.... Any ideas? Thanks! - Dylan
  3. Hi, I am wondering if there is a simple way of aligning my drawing labels (in viewports) on sheet layers. I have a handful of drawing labels which i have manually placed in each viewport and then laid out the viewports on the page and I noticed that the labels don't line-up perfectly. Is there a simple way of setting the x or y coordinates for drawing labels. I created a worksheet of all drawing labels in my drawing but I can only see 'Drawing Label2'.'ControlPointX'. I cannot edit them in worksheet, so I am guessing they are the wrong values thing to be changing. Advancing even further on a similar point - is there a way of locating the drawing label a fixed distance from the corner of the cropping rectangle too ?... may be a bit advanced for me though ! TIA. 4. Hello, I was sent a point cloud scan of a venue where I will be doing a theatrical installation. The trouble is that the scan came to in 55 separate e57 files. I'm interested in advice on how I can align and merge these files into one. Thanks, Nick

This node will take an anchor object and a list of other objects to align. The OIP has X and Y position options on how the objects should be aligned. This node will only align objects in 2D.
  6. I've been using VW, mostly for machine design, for about 30 years, but only doing 3D for a few. I have considerable difficulty assuring that 3D machine parts are correctly/precisely aligned in any view other than Top/Plan. I would expect to be able to specify an X,Y,Z value for some point on (or related to) any object or group, but can't. I'm currently using VW2015, previewing VW2017, hoping it would solve the problem, but apparently not. Can anyone help? P.S. I can't tell which position/color of the circle in "Notify me of replies" is the affirmative position. I'm assuming that the default (Left, white) is the affirmative.
  7. Greetings, I believe this already a known issue, but I managed to capture Apple's crash report this time and wanted to add it to the knowledge base if it would prove useful in solving the issue. In VW2017 spotlight SP2 I am having a crash event occur every time I attempt to align 2 or more lighting fixture symbols (whether or not the have been converted to instruments). I have experienced this issue over multiple drawings. However, when I opt to "distribute and align" instead of "just align" VW appears to have no issue and completes the action just fine. I have attached the crash report automatically generated by Apple. Thanks! Align fixture crash.pdf
