  1. Hi VWs Please can we add another parameter to the lintel tool on windows [and I assume doors] so that we can draw soldier and header courses above windows/doors more easily? We want to be able to draw a soldier course above a window [similar to attached photo] that doesn't extend past the reveal but this option is missing from the OIP. Surely it would be relatively easy to add this as per my sketch? We could then apply a different texture or surface hatch to the lintel to create the desired effect. While we're at it, please could we add an pressed aluminium sill to the sill options for windows as this is something we use quite a bit in the UK. Thanks in advance!
  2. As far as I can tell, NNA door & window objects do not include a record field that report the net vent area (WinDoor objects provide these), and doors don't have a field for net glazed area. Any tips on how to calculate / report these in a glazing / fenestration schedule? Thanks! Cheers, Markus
  3. When I go to the settings menu in 2017 for Doors, the "Ok" and "Cancel" buttons don't show up, so I am unable to make changes and accept them. I did find that I can 'Tab' through until the invisible buttons are selected and hit 'Enter', but it's not what I would call a interactive.
  4. I did a test this evening with an old 13" macbook pro and a brand new, maxed out, 15" pro. Vectorworks took 40 seconds to start up on both systems. Does anyone have a beefy windows laptop (xps or a gaming laptop) to let me know if it is any better? Thanks!
  5. This happens with both Doors & Windows & I find this odd & perhaps a Bug: - Create any number of random Windows with different attributes - Choose one at random - Pick up this Window's attributes with the Eye dropper - Select with the Magic Wand & select all the windows - Apply the Eye dropper's attributes to the selected windows & they change Follow the same as above, but with the windows inserted into a wall, or series of walls - Only the one window that has been touched by the Eye dropper's bucket changes its attributes
  6. Is there a way to select an object as normal with left click. Then when you have selected the item ...release the left mouse button and the selected object will follow the curser. Then when you get to new placement location you can left click and it will drop the item. I'm basically looking for a mode or way to not have to hold the left button mouse down while moving objects.
  7. Hi, I am currently working towards PAS1192:2-2013 mandate and I am having some issues with the IFC import and the way we create windows. As we work on large housing schemes we work with window types, a method Vectorworks have previously advised to do it. So we create windows and then turn into symbols, so when placed within a wall they appear as a 'symbol in the wall'. However when exporting to IFC and either re-importing into VW to test or into Solibre Model Checker, the IFC format does not acknowledge the relationship between the wall and the window. I therefore tried exploding the symbol to test if it was this and when it is a 'window in wall' it views fine. I was wondering if anyone has had a similar issue and a work around. One way i was going to try was using symbol geometry in the window settings. therefore if you change the original source component then this will still change. However this will result in manual window changes to each window for height width etc. I have attached a solider model checker screenshot showing the if import result of a door in a wall as a 'symbol in a wall'. This also applies to doors. Thank you. Gavin
  8. In VW2017 all of a sudden in elevation all Window IDs from opposite side of structure are showing. Any ideas why? Is this a bug or a setting?
  9. its insane that the reveals of windows and doors are not rendered correctly when you have selected exterior completions in window tool. i.e. render for external face of wall but only 20mm edge is shown in 3d even though in plan its correct.
  10. User Interface 1. All those Plugin and similar Objects to use a same common Editing/Settings Window with same Appearance. Like Stair Tool. With Tabbed Layout and Preview
