  1. I think I'm right in saying that we can't do something like this with Wall Closures? We can only do one of these:
  2. Now that we have the very welcome Wall Closure feature I would love to have support for 'cavity closers'.** 'Cavity closers' are used in cavity wall construction around openings in the walls—in particular windows and doors—to protect against water ingress, damp, heat loss, condensation and smoke. In some types of construction they're also used to inhibit the spread of smoke and fire in concealed spaces; in the UK their name changes to Cavity Barrier in this case. I'd like to be able to show these on our 1:50 floor plans and sections. See also: https://forum.vectorworks.net/index.php?/topic/98080-new-tool-for-modelling-cavity-barriers/ **although perhaps better as separate object rather than as part of the Wall Closure feature: https://forum.vectorworks.net/index.php?/topic/98196-less-combined-objects-and-better-ways-to-connect-them/ https://forum.vectorworks.net/index.php?/topic/98080-new-tool-for-modelling-cavity-barriers/#comment-436158
  3. Hi, I am looking to find way to set up correct wall closure for custom opening. It is wall opening with stepped edges and am using symbol to cut it out. At the moment finish components of wall style stop where edge is stepped and will not wrap around to the desired place...tried different wall hole and wall closure components for symbol but no success so far... Here is case: view from one side (purple - finish component, gray - core, green - finish component) view from other side This is current state: and this is objective: Is it achievable using one wall style combined with custom symbol with wall hole and wall closure component? Would like to hear your suggestions. Thanks.
  4. Hello community, I'm doing my first "project" with VW, It's a small office. I've created a new style of door and with the interior walls, sometimes the wall closure tool works, sometimes it doesn't. I wonder why because all the wall and door preferences are the same and I've tried with simple geometry wall (even on a different file) and it still doesn't work. What can I be doing wrong? The file is attached, for a quicker understanding. Kind regards! escritorio.vwx
  5. Hi all, Anybody having serious difficulty to get under control wall wrappings. Please see issue in attached screenshots. What i can see it is triggered when two walls with different style are joined/rejoined or when window/door in wall gets wall closure. It was working fine in VW 2022 SP0 not sure about SP1, but definitely not in SP1.1... Am using wall closure on wall style level and then individually activated on each instance of window/door through Plug-in Objects Options... I am wondering if it has something to do with addition (since SP1) of custom symbols wall closure...? I use custom symbol for sill and I have turned off 'insert in walls' option but with no desired effect. There are no other symbols in walls only feature in wall that cut out portion of wall underneath each door... @Matt Panzer Do you have maybe some idea what might cause this behavior and how to fix it? Thanks for all your help.
  6. If you're updating an existing file to use the new Wall Closure feature in v2022 to wrap components instead of the Wall Detail feature, don't deactivate Wall Detail, just set it to 0. This way if you want to go back to using Wall Detail it will remember where you dragged the wrapped component to. If you deactivate and reactivate Wall Detail you'll need to re-drag all the wrapped components to where you had them.
