  1. Hi, I’m selling a VW Fundamentals 2016 licence. The licence cost £1,500 new. I’m selling for £900 plus £150 licence transfer charge which will go to the agent for ownership transfer (annoying to have to do that but I think it’s required unless you know otherwise). Send me a message if you want any other info.
  2. Hello I am selling my Vectorworks 2017 + Spotlight License transferable to a new owner. Contact for details. ryan.dunbarsa@gmail.com
  3. Happy to use VW2014 or similar to keep costs down as its just for a bit of private work (have used VW2014 at a practice for many years). I have a trial version of VW2014 installed, just need the license now. UK based. Thanks.
  4. I wish there was a Fixture Request submission page available for Vectorworks like there is for Vision so that I could get confirmation that the request has been received. Being instructed to submit a fixture request on the wishlist seems to me that there is a high risk of the Fixture request being missed, overlooked, and not being created in a timely manner.
  5. I wish there was a link to https://forum.vectorworks.net directly from the Vectorworks main landing page http://www.vectorworks.net in the Support tab. the reason is because the current link to the knowledge base takes you to a different starting page in the forum, making it difficult to navigate your way to the wishlist quickly without using a bookmark in the browser.
  6. I would like to know how I can insert new standards in the Structural Member category. How do I enter new usages / Member Types / New Shapes? I can not locate in the root of the software where I can put this new information, neither the own settings that comes with VectorWorks. I’m using Vectorworks 2017 SP3
  7. would love a search box inside the Vision Fixture Mode menu in the VW object info window… having to expand the menus inside this window every time it opens seems inefficient..
  8. If I change something in my Vision scene, it doesn’t automatically update my VW drawing with those changes.. there should be a way for Vision to update backwards into my VW drawing so that anything I change or add in my Vision file automatically gets added into my VW drawing.. the communication between both programs should be bi-directional.
  9. Hey, I am running VWX 2017 designer and have just installed vision 2017 demo. I cannot get the "Vision" menu to show up in VWX at all in order to compile my vision file. Does anyone know what I may be doing wrong? Thanks in advance. B
  10. Looking for a copy of VW 2012 - Architect version ideally. Please make contact if you have one available for sale. Now no longer upgradeable apparently, but fine for our needs. Cheers Bob.
  11. The program is very unstable and keeps crashing and even after setting up auto save for every 3 tasks, when it crashes I lose all of my work and not able to recover it. I have called tech support about this they seem not to be able to fix it and try to blame it on my computer. I have a very high powered machine with a R 480 Video card and a AMD crosshair V, 8 core processor and 24 gig of memory. So it's not my computer, is there anyone who has had this problem and is there a solution?
  12. Global design and BIM software developer Vectorworks, Inc. congratulates its Japanese distributor A&A Co., Ltd for receiving a BCN AWARD 2017. Winning the CAD software category, A&A received the honor due to its 32 percent Japanese market share, making Vectorworks software the bestselling CAD solution in Japanese electronics retail stores. As the market leader, Vectorworks beat out software providers Phototron Limited (24.3 percent market share) and Lilac System Inc. (21.8 percent market share). Market share is based on statistics accumulated from 2,614 stores providing sales reports to BCN Co., Ltd., the organizer of the BCN AWARD. Now in its 18th year, the BCN AWARD collects the sales data of major domestic electric appliance mass merchandisers, personal computer specialty shops and net shops in Japan. Based off these numbers, the awards recognize manufacturers with the highest total annual sales volume. “This is an incredible honor for A&A, and it’s quite the accomplishment for them to win this award in the highly competitive Japanese market. We sincerely thank all A&A employees for their hard work and dedication, resulting in this tremendous success,” said Vectorworks CEO Dr. Biplab Sarkar. “We will continue developing the robust Vectorworks product line to further empower our distributors to lead the market and enable today’s designers to create unmatched experiences.” This year, 58 product provider companies received prizes in 121 different categories, with a range of software categories such as Business software, Communications software and Education/learning software. This marks the seventh year that A&A was recognized with a BCN AWARD, winning third place in 2012 and second place from 2013 to 2016. “It is a great honor to receive a BCN AWARD. It reaffirms that architects and designers highly appreciate the creative design features in the Vectorworks series, which led to us receiving this award,” said Eiichi Kawase, president of A&A Co., Ltd., during the awards ceremony. “We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all the customers and dealers who have given us support and patronage. We will continue to make efforts to provide more attractive products and services in the future.” To learn more about the Vectorworks line of design software for the architecture, landscape and entertainment industries – which is available in twelve languages – visit vectorworks.net.
  13. Hi, Could anyone tell me the best way to export from Vectorworks and import to MicroStation? I would like to keep all 3D elements in tact, for MicroStation to recognise walls, slabs etc. When exporting to DWG/DFX this information seems to be lost... Is it possible to retain all the information as seen in Vectorworks?
  14. Hello! My name is Nik Robalino and I'm selling my Vectorworks license with Spotlight (includes Renderworks). I am getting out of the industry and no longer have a use for it. I am asking for $2,650. Thanks for your interest, Nik
  15. Hi, I am currently working towards PAS1192:2-2013 mandate and I am having some issues with the IFC import and the way we create windows. As we work on large housing schemes we work with window types, a method Vectorworks have previously advised to do it. So we create windows and then turn into symbols, so when placed within a wall they appear as a 'symbol in the wall'. However when exporting to IFC and either re-importing into VW to test or into Solibre Model Checker, the IFC format does not acknowledge the relationship between the wall and the window. I therefore tried exploding the symbol to test if it was this and when it is a 'window in wall' it views fine. I was wondering if anyone has had a similar issue and a work around. One way i was going to try was using symbol geometry in the window settings. therefore if you change the original source component then this will still change. However this will result in manual window changes to each window for height width etc. I have attached a solider model checker screenshot showing the if import result of a door in a wall as a 'symbol in a wall'. This also applies to doors. Thank you. Gavin
  16. I am currently running VWX 2017 SP2 on Mac, but have encountered a problem. Whenever I insert a 3D Lighting instrument and a focus point, and go to focus the light to the point, VWX crashes and closes down. I have tried a few different things but cant seem to fix this... got a few plans going out this week so could do with sorting it! thanks for any feedback which could help me!
  17. Looking for a license on the cheap. Don't want to get into the piracy thing but still need the program. Anybody reselling a license?
  18. For those interested, on Architosh there is an article about a book describing using BIM and Vectorworks, it has showcases etc. as well as tips on how to use Vectorworks in BIM. Even though it is somewhat UK centric it may still be useful for those outside the UK as the underlying information can probably be used elsewhere too. http://architosh.com/2016/01/review-evaluating-the-case-in-jonathan-reeves-new-book-innovative-vectorworks-bim/
  19. Hi All, We are currently in the process of constructing a complex 3D vectorworks model with the end goal of exporting from Vectorworks to rhino, in order to render in V-ray. Any ideas as how to best construct and export so that the file is as clean as possible, with all appropriate layers, when imported into rhino? KM VW 2016 SP3
  20. Good Afternoon All, Just a quick one, as a first-time thread poster - does anyone have any idea of the below: "When exporting a file from within Vectorworks to a .PDF format (Adobe Acrobat DC), the file in question is being flipped to a different page layout type then what is set in Vectorworks". I have had a look in the application that I am trying to export too (Adobe Acrobat DC), and I cannot see any setting that can be set that would allow the page type to be set as is when exporting. On the plus side of this, when I then Publish a file in Vectorworks and export to PDF, it will be the same page layout and scope as it is seen in Vectorworks. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, what measures were put in place to correct this? Thanks in advance to any responses. TheArtist.
