  1. Just sharing a work flow many will know. But less experienced colleagues maybe not. And there may be an easier way? And I could have used the stair stool to create a circular stair. But this stair is irregular and I wanted to try using new tools. (I don't like "spiral" stairs. Because they seem a design-cliche` to me. But a paying client wants one!) So I modelled something like it using the loft surface tool (LST). In birail sweep mode. Workflow :- Draw balustrade members. NURBS tool to draw a curve across their tops. Duplicate it. Lowered one by the depth of my handrail section. NURBS tool again to draw the handrail section. Then the LST. The online video via Help is useful. Fun!
  2. Hi, can someone help me to design a spiral chair in elevation? I can't get my head drawing the attached chair. I have used NURBS curve but not sure if this the right approach. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you.
  3. neither command works on this shape extrude fails to extrude polygon correctly, and ONLY extrudes sides (as opposed to extruding polygon plane) drape doesn't work at all... Furthermore, the shape I need would entail sloping down the spiral at the broader end... how would you do such a shape??? any suggestions? thx!
