Since starting to use this program I have been having problems with the purge command. I currently am refining a .dwg I have imported into VW and having put the objects I want to keep into the correct classes, deleted the unused lines, I am now trying to purge the old classes that came in with the .dwg from the file. The file was 280Mb when I saved it just prior to purging. I started the purge command at 10.30 this morning and it is now 2.30pm. So 4 hours + is what VW thinks is appropriate to recognise the handful of unused classes etc. Before everyone says, "upload the file"; this is NOT a file related problem. This is absolutely a vectorworks problem as it has followed me through 3 full versions of VW, probably 9 Service packs, 3 New template files and every single file over 10Mb I have used. However, I know I am the only person to experience this as I only get condescending comments from tech support and there is nothing discussing purge slowness in the forums. Help?

Dear VW lovers, I have a VW file I have worked on for a few months, with contains many meanwhile unnecessary Design Layers, and now I wanted to reduce it to what I only need within this file. So firstly I deleted all unnecessary sheet layers and viewports and then purged the file down to the bone. But now the aim is to only keep the design layers which are connected to these Viewports. --> All other Design Layers can be deleted. But because there are so many of them, it is mighty time consuming to go over every single viewport and check which DLs are connected and which not, to then delete those. Is there an automation similar to purging that does the trick? Any help is appreciated. Cheers, Grethe

Morning All Is anyone aware of a script or plug that could Batch Purge files? (along the lines of Batch Conversions) It could save hundreds of gb of space when we archive files. I look forward to hearing from you. Jezza

I convert a VW 2016 origin Project to VW 2017. I cleaned up several secondary Files successfully already. (Plugin Update, Plugin Reset, Purge) But the main File where I did the same cleaning procedure at the beginning, I needed to manually move some Objects to other Layers and delete some Layers used for now unneeded Versions. After deleting the included Geometry, Purge always crashed. I deleted the Layers manually but Purge Tool still crashes each time after I accept the 2nd Window. Has any one else Purge Tool crashing too, with converted VW 2016 Files ? Is this "Change Layer Bug" related ? File unfortunately under NDA. But full low privacy extended crash details and usage patterns delivery activated.
