  1. This is new in VWX 2022, some kind of snapping bug or priority issue. The only snapping I have on is SNAP TO POINT: But even with that being the only snapping option I have on, it's still snapping to angles, which is off: With those same settings, I want to draw a line from these two locusts: When I try to do that, this is what happens: If I switch the draw mode to unconstrained mode, it works as I'd expect it to: Holding shift to temporarily turn on CONSTRAINED MODE works as it should, too. It's only a problem with constrained mode on. Any ideas? Or just another funny buggy thing.
  2. I've created a PIO that selects all the lines from the visible layer on the drawing. Now I simple want to increase each line's length by 2" (user defined), from it's center. How do I make sure it's length changes from it's center? Dave

Description This node calculates where a line (not a line segment!) and a plane intersect. Input / output The plane is defined by its normal vector and a point on the plane. The line is defined by two points. The output point is where the line and plane intersect. Example Usage The example in the file combines the node with the Get Distance node to check if a three dimensional line intersects with a NURBS surface. This network can be used to create several simulations that can answer questions like: Do sunrays reach a balcony? Is the church tower visible from a window? Etc. Script is based on: https://rosettacode.org/wiki/Find_the_intersection_of_a_line_with_a_plane#Python The node uses numpy. Thanks to DomC for creating a numpy importer node. Niels Timmer March 2020
  4. there is a line type edit in resources, is there a way to edit line thickness in a similar way to removing classes: remove unwanted thicknesses and make them conform to whatever new standards I want. I know I can do it by custom selection tool but its time consuming and not as instant as removing classes.
  5. Hi you all, My workplace are looking into Vectorworks, and i am the man to setup our new template. I was told, that they want to draw in 1:1 scale, so the design layers are in 1:1. Our sheet layers (viewports) is typical in 1:100 and 1:200. Everything is good, excpet of one "hopfully" small thing. We have different line types in our drawings (water, electric, gas etc.) and these have different line styles and colors. I have made different classes to these lines, so it is easy to switch around them and to edit the style. Now the problem: When i draw a line in my design layer (scale 1:1) can i see the color of the line, but the style is "gone". Well it is not gone, but I have to zoom alot in to see it. When I then switch to my sheet layer (scale 1:100) is the line just fine, with the color and style. Is there a way (a check mark, option, etc) to do so the line is looking correct both in my design layer and sheet layer? Alternativ must we draw in scale 1:100.
  6. Hey Guys, I'm having issues with my section viewport where a line from the a slab object is showing through a wall. In the attached images, I've circled the three instances where a line appears where it should not. I have tried moving the slab far beyond the wall, but the line still displays. The line disappears when I delete the slab object and update the viewport. The strange thing is, when I pull the clip cube away from the building for an elevation, the lines disappear. Let me know what you guys think the issue is. Thanks, Raymond
  7. Hi all, When I draw a line on a 3D plane with line type set to dashed: And I create a section viewport that shows this line (hidden line render mode), I get the following result: Anyone has an idea how to display this line as a dashed line in the section viewport? EDIT: Design and Sheet layer have the same scaling set (1:10) Thank you, Bert
  8. Hello, I am trying to extend a line in Vectorworks 2016 on a mac. It is not long enough, and I would like to extend it a certain distance. I know in autocad there is an extend command, is there something like that in Vectorworks? Thanks!
  9. Hey guys, How do I turn off the weight of the VW line in 2016, I've looked everywhere but could not find! and my problem is not when I give zoom, is always!
  10. Hi everyone, Recently I have purchased Vectorworks 17 and every time I have tried to print something, in the viewport all the line weights seem to be displayed right. However, when I print it, the all appear more less the same. Mainly I have been using 0.03, 0.08 and 0.15mm. Previously I have been using Vectorworks 12.5 for a couple of years and I never had any issues with printing the lines with the same printer (it's Canon imagePROGRAF iPF610) I have tried both to print it directly from the program and by exporting PDF but it hasn't solved the issue. I have also tried to modify settings in 'Advanced Properties'. It's worth mentioning that when I open the same file in Vectorworks 12.5 and send it to the printer, it prints the file properly with all the line weights. Can anybody help? Have you guys come across this before? Thanks
