ConnectCAD Numbering Issues
I_Think_I_Know_But I _Dont posted a topic in ConnectCADI am having issues with ConnectCAD numbering recognizing device names. I have the destination device name set as my condition but it doesn't see any of them. Have y'all had any luck with the numbering tools? At this point it's almost more trouble than its worth in my opinion. The end goal is to label cables based on plate names. IE: LAN on plate LPP01-116A would have a label of 116A-LN01. (LN = Lighting Network) ETH DMX on plate LPP01-116A would have a label of 116A-LX01 (LX Lighting DMX)
Position Label on Light Ladder
AmandaM22 posted a question in TroubleshootingHey all, I'm not sure if there's a way to do this. I would love to add labels to my box boom positions (just something like HR Box Boom) while they're in 2D view. I used lighting ladders and effectively have a plot view and a 3D view so I can use them in Augment3d, but I can't seem to figure out how to actually make that position name show up as a label in the 2D view. Hopefully that makes some sense. Thanks in advance!
Hide Cable Extra Label
RedBassett posted a topic in EntertainmentIs there a way to hide the "(XX' Extra)" part of a cable label in Spotlight? I'm drawing cables not-to-scale, and manually setting cable lengths. I'd like to display these specified lengths normally, but without the extra label.
trashcan posted a topic in EntertainmentI have projectors with attached records. They are custom records and I'm not using the screen tool. The record includes a projector ID name / number. I'd like to be able to add that data as labels with leader lines in the sheet layer. Essentially a label legend for projectors. I thought there was a hacky way to do this and I'm of course forgetting what it is. Any ideas?
Add Data Tag or Label to Custom Symbol
milezee posted a topic in General Discussionin need of some help if possible. I've been slowly learning VW and nearly ready (I think) to start using it in anger for project work. Now comfortable with creating all my own custom symbols, attaching a record, creating worksheets, nice looking sheet pages etc. One thing I just can't master is adding a Data Tag to each custom symbol. I want to be able to add a simple number in a circle to each object so it corresponds with the bill of quantities items in my worksheet and the viewer can see which number tag is which item in my list, any help appreciated 😁(screenshot attached of example I'm trying to achieve)
While VW contour label placement is better than it used to be it still isn't user friendly in my opinion. I would like to be able to draw a polyline across the contour map and have a contour label placed wherever the polyline intersects with a contour line! Several other survey programs incorporate that feature. Currently I manually place contour labels using the text tool just because it is just too cumbersome to go in and delete multiple random labels and then drag the remaining ones to the correct location. Also please give us the ability to set the decimal precision for contour labels without affecting the decimal precision for the rest of the drawing. This is another reason I still manually enter contour labels. I guarantee Vectorworks will get rave reviews from most people who label contours if they give us this kind of requested control over contour labels. If you agree please vote this wishlist item UP ! :-)
DomC posted a file in Marionette - Objects
162 downloadsMore powerful, than a database or text application. A Vectorworks integrated label-script-example with Marionette. The attached example shows how to import address data from a worksheet (could be other data and sources) and additionally places symbol beside the address. The power of Vectorworks and Marionette allows us to put everything you like dynamically on that labels. As example sort by male and female names (if possibly :-) and generate a individual pictures. Just infinite possibilities.
Drawing Name = Object Name
ericjhberg posted a question in Wishlist - Feature and Content RequestsI wish that the drawing name automatically equaled the viewport name for sheet layer viewports. Either that or get rid of one of the naming categories .I don't understand why we need two different names for a viewport. This would streamline visibility controls, reduce redundancy, and help with using drawings labels.
