  1. Hello, How do you guys manage your workflow withou making your Vectorworks files bulky. In the exemple below i have use reference for my buildings and house. My files have reach 600MB and i am yet to create viewport for presentation and print. 2. Dear All I would like to see two licences of Vectorworks. Vectorworks Design with Vision (Renderworks) and Vectorworks Architect. The original price was for £2715 for the Designer Version £2405.40 for the Architect Version I don't expect the same price but a fair offer which is open for discussion. I am aware that it makes sense to speak to Vectorworks to organise a VSS contract a year subscription and update if this is beneficial. Please contact Michael at Hormann Architects 01326 761290
  3. Hello, I am currently working in VW Architect 2021, and I am designing a two story residence. I would like to capture the space/room/dimensions and have that data reflected/incorporated into a VW worksheet so I can produce accurate estimations and material take offs. Any assistance that you can provide in this matter is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Ryan Russell
  4. All, I am trying to learn the best approach to creating property lines / tagging arcs for a "Site Plan". When developing a simple site model, using bearings, I have encountered no issues. However, I am currently working on a plan that is more challenging and requires property lines that have arcs. I have attached what I am working on, and would welcome any support on the project. Thanks, Ryan Russell p.s. - I have a working document that was exported from Revit, and imported into Vectorworks. The problem I am encountering is that it won't scale well when I try to drop in another model created in VW2022. So, naturally, I am trying to see if I cannot just build this out entirely within VW. 10. Vectorworks 2020 on PC. All of my clerestory corner windows objects that are under 2'-0" in height do not connect in the 3D model at the corner. I'm not sure when or why it happened but every corner window in my project is now offset from each other. It did not used to be like this. Let me know if you are aware of any mistakes I may have made here. ***I just tried this in a new file and the same thing occurred. Something strange is happening with corner windows set to "Clerestory" Turning off clerestory fixes the problem however I would like for my windows to display as single dashed lines in 2D. I'm curious to see if this happens with anyone else.
  11. Hi, I"m very new and started this file from scratch. I changed to different roof types, components, etc. I could see it at one point as the shingle but now they are back to black for some reason... I do not know enough to know what I am doing wrong. Help! SOS

  13. I have 1x Vectorworks Architect 2015 license for sale. It includes Renderworks. I have been using it on mac OS, should be compatible with Windows also but I have no experience with this. The license was originally purchased from the Australian distributor and is located in Australia. I have used it with El Capitan (10.11) predominantly, and didn't notice any new issues after upgrading to Mojave (10.14). I will consider all reasonable offers. Please PM me or reply with your email address.
  14. So I'm designing a curtain wall that spans 2 floors and each have windows in them on 2 separate floors. Is it ok to design the symbol as one plug in object as if it were a window spanning two floors or am I building this wrong altogether. It seemed easier to just design it as one piece rather than design 2 separate systems that are slightly different one from the other. Will I run into problems down the line when making my window schedule? When I used to draw it in 2D, the whole curtain wall system would be under a single "window type" that would be considered as one curtain wall with casements where indicated. Maybe I'm overthinking this but I would love to get some feedback as to how some of you would handle designing a simple two story "storefront" system". Thanks
  15. Hello Architect forum members. Have you been implementing any workflows which integrate with GIS data, imagery and/or geometry? If so, please reach out to us at landmark@vectorworks.net . As many of you know, we have recently joined Esri's partnership program as a Silver Tier Partner. Through this, we have several opportunities to reach other design professionals like you who are looking to improve their site analysis and planning workflows, but less aware of how GIS and related geospatial resources enable them to do that within Vectorworks. We believe that sharing your workflow examples could inspire them to do just that. The recent release of Vectorworks Landmark, Architect and Designer 2020 introduced new GIS integration features, such as Geolocate and Geoimage, which can save a great amount of time in providing georeferencing to a file, or in adding visual context for the planning work you are including as part of your project deliverables. Prior to this year's release, and still certainly available, is the ability to import georeferenced shapefile (SHP) data and georeferenced image files, such as GeoTIFF, TFW, JGW, BPW, etc.. Designers using Vectorworks could not only import those files, but they could modify them in 2D visualizations and in 3D models, allowing them to quickly add context into the projects which they are designing. So, whether you have some examples to share from the workflows we have offered before the 2020 release, or perhaps you have already been putting the 2020 new features to use, please let us know by emailing us by this Friday, October 18, and we will follow up with some communication about the potential of showing off your expertise and improved workflows. Thank you for your time in considering this opportunity. We look forward to hearing from you soon. Best regards, Eric Eric Gilbey, PLA Product Marketing Manager

  21. When I insert a Scale Bar, normally the text sits above the bar, but recently it has been overlapping with the bar itself whenever the "Printed Height" is set to a value less than 5. I can't see any settings to change the position of the text. What am I missing? (VW Architect 2018, Mac OS 10.13.5)
  22. as shown in the attachment, the vertical hatch is not rendering out completely leaving a blank white space. I tried changing the wall style and surface hatch components but nothing is working. is there anyway to correct this?
  23. Hi all, We have encountered a pdf zoom issue suddenly. On a file that previously worked fine, zooming in on an underlying, imported pdf shifts the pdf sideways, significantly. The pdf doesn't actually move, but the display is incorrect. Zooming out remedies the situation. Previously the file worked fine. This occurs on at least two different pc setups. One user reported this after a windows update today. We've updated the graphics card drivers, restarted etc. but no help there. A sample file attached. PDF_Zoom_issue_sample.vwx
