Has anyone had trouble with the image files they're getting out of VW2017 via the publish command? In VW2016 I was using a workflow where I was creating image files and combining them into a PDF file using Adobe Acrobat. When I try and do this with series of image files created by the VW2017 publish command, some of the image files read differently and Acrobat separates them out instead of including them in the batch. I've had the same result when I try JPG, TIFF or PNG. Kevin

Often when I'm editing polyline shapes I turn off all snaps so they don't influence organic curves. In VW2017 there seems to be a mild tendency when editing a point for it to snap back to its initial handle position or other surrounding handles. This mild snapping becomes more pronounced as you zoom out further. It also creates a small crosshair at the cursor when you cross over other polyline points. I can see how this could be helpful in some instances but when there are no icons selected in the snapping palette there should be no snapping. The behaviour is different when I use ` to suspend snapping so there's definitely some sort of secret snapping occurring. I'm not that interested in holding down the ` key for an hour while I do fine tuning of a complex polyline. Can someone else confirm this behaviour? Thanks, Kevin

1. Insert Spotlight Instrument 2. Edit the symbol used for the lighting device. 3. "Refresh Instruments" does not refresh the changes made to the symbol. A workaround until this is fixed is to select all instruments, click "Refresh Labels" in OIP.

Try this - - draw an opened ended arc in Top/Plan view on the Layer Plane - add arrow markers - switch to a front or side view - drag the arc up or down so its Plane becomes "3D" - switch back to Top/Plan view and notice how the arc now displays as a weird open mouth arc hinged slightly at its apex. Also note that the object highlighting is still a nice smooth arc. - turn off the arrow markers and the arc displays as it should. Kevin

Rendering Weirdness with Carriage Bolts VW2017
Kevin McAllister posted a question in Troubleshooting
There seems to be an issue rendering carriage bolts in VW2017. It happens with ones inserted in VW2017 and ones brought forward from VW2016. Kevin -
I really like the functionality of the new Slider node in Vectorworks 2017. It has a good amount of flexibility. Here are a few examples of it used for Angle (-90 to +90 range), Angle (1-360 range) and Percent (0-100). (@MarissaFis there a trick to putting an arrow marker onto one end of a line in Marionette? I thought it would be easy using the Attributes node but that doesn't work. Searching around I couldn't easily find a way to do it....) Kevin Sliders.vwx

I really like the functionality of the Spotlight Instrument being able to alter pen and fill attributes depending on which class it is assigned to. There seems to be an inconsistency to this function’s design though which I find frustrating. Many of us use different lineweights within our symbols and indeed many of Spotlight’s own symbols do as well. When one uses the Instrument’s colour to alter the pen colour, lineweights are maintained as set “By Class” within the symbol which is great, but when one sets the symbol to change “By Lighting Instrument” all the lineweights change to the weight of the active class regardless of the “By Class” settings of the objects within the symbol. This seems inconsistent to me. I’m not sure if this is a bug or just an oversight, but It would be really good if this could be changed on the next update. Many thanks
