  1. Indeed it wasn't cleaned up, but it was my fault ... Now it's ok.
  2. http://www.treegenerator.com/ http://www.frecle.net/index.php?show=treed.about
  3. Context dependent section could be the solution ... http://youtu.be/ZiMA1IAn8HU http://youtu.be/qaQFpCQS_y4
  4. Or you can choose - separate cross sections + use attributes of original objects and try to fiddle with classes to make section through trees less visible ...
  5. Depends on your design layer scale and dpi resolution in render bitmap options ...
  6. ?? (not sure, whether you ask for this ..)
  7. http://techboard.vectorworks.net/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=157296#Post157296 Easy presentation of any data type within the file ...
  8. I had related idea few months ago... http://techboard.vectorworks.net/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Main=31990&Number=157302#Post157302
  9. You can't buy better card and replace the old one?
  10. You can ask them what and how they do (info@wielarets.nl ) I was only looking for some larger projects ...
  11. Good question. I tried to google: http://www10.aeccafe.com/blogs/arch-showcase/2011/06/16/4-towers-in-osdorp-amsterdam-the-netherlands-by-wiel-arets-architects/#more-28554 http://www.wielaretsarchitects.nl/ http://www10.aeccafe.com/blogs/arch-showcase/2011/10/15/kenmore-library-in-washington-by-weinstein-au/#more-49249 http://www.weinsteinau.com/
  12. Well, yes. That's true... But I use VW 3d/BIM capabilities (and SU fast modelling capabilities) for my own - architect/designer needs. Fast feedback, better control, 2d viewports reflect changes in the model .. I just like it! Btw 2D part of VW is far better drafting program than Draftsight..
  13. I discovered this function 1 year ago... It was "Duh!" moment There is very .. very usefull "Duh!" thread on Sketchucation forum. Actually, we could have another one for VW.. (sorry for offtopic) http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=17315&start=0
  14. Sorry, I don't get it. What do you mean?
  15. I assure you that VW is faster than SU + DS combination. Elevation and section viewports are very good even with some necessary 2D fixing .. Definitely better and faster than drafting everything in 2D. But you have to use it. The way of thinking is different and one has to learn and adopt it.
  16. And have you tried to manage at least one complete project in 3D? I don't think VW "light" BIM is THAT bad. DWorks looks to use VW 3D parametric capabilities pretty intensively...
  17. It is possible, that in the near future the concept of exchanging data via universal or proprietary files will be obsolete ... http://beyondplm.com/2011/07/01/my-experience-with-dassault-v6-plm-cloud-on-amazon/ http://blogs.technet.com/b/sql_server_isv/archive/2011/02/09/guest-article-storing-cad-databases-in-the-cloud.aspx
  18. Personally ... I think, that whole BIM marvel must one day reach its climax. Parametric tools mimic real objects and there is no need to make them better than reality. You can improve apps speed, interoperability, data sharing, GUI etc but virtual window will be always only symbolic representation of the real one. Revit or any other app can't escape out of this reference frame. vw doesn't have to be blazingly fast in the implementation of parametrics but they should do it consistently, with minimum bugs and with big portion of original ingenuity. This whole run on BIM will softly land on flat part of the saturation curve of parametric functionality. Just do it right make it perfect and real .. (original: http://youtu.be/S5SkI8zmFNw)
