  1. If you select multiple fixtures that have different Z values across ladders and stands and whatnot and move them in any way (nudge, [CTR M], drag and drop, etc), they all take on the same Z value. For instance, if you've just re-spaced, re-trimmed and jiggered your 5 trusses full of lights until your new rig is just about perfect (multi-rung ladders included to make it all the more frustrating) then grab them all and move them a few feet upstage, you will discover that all of the ladder fixtures are now at the same height of the closest truss they were near. Its not consistent - you can move them a few times just fine then all of a sudden you blink twice, change your view and look again: all the ladder fixtures have jumped to the truss height. If you thought you might like to take that whole arrangement, maybe even as a group and move them into a new document, let's say one with a venue, scenic, seating and audio layout in it already? Don't bother unless you want to re-trim all your lights, again... This one is consistent - copy from one doc, paste to another - bye bye ladders! (see screenshots) Anyone else have the same thing happen? Is this documented somewhere?
  2. Andrew- I'm trying to create a curtain that's tabbed open. Would need it to actually part and swag and hang. There are various ways I can trick the operation. But it won't look as good as a modeled piece. I've been experimenting with converting the curtain object to a group and then readjusting the nurbs control points. But the program keeps freezing the process.
  3. Hello Andrew- does SoftGoods allow one to create tableau or austrian style curtains? Looking for a good way to make swagged soft goods in VW2010.
  4. Please pardon the angry rant. I know it's not productive.
  5. What a CF! I used the workaround suggested above - fix the symbol (again) then "convert to group." And, as warned, it made the file so enormous that I'm now getting "out of memory" warnings followed by a full on freeze. In NNA's effort to push out new software every year, fixing bugs from the previous version isn't really that high on the priority list. Update = free = no new revenue. Upgrade = $$$ = revenue. I'd be willing to pay more for an upgrade every 2 years if the software actually worked. I've been a VW user since version 8 and have never been so disappointed and frustrated with this platform as I am right now. NNA, I have a suggestion: FIX THE SOFTWARE YOU PUT OUT BEFORE YOU GO AND TRY TO SELL A NEW VERSION. You may make a few less dollars but you'll have users that actually trust and respect you. I don't care how great your advertising says the 3D environment is... If you can't maintain a simple axis rotation and won't actually admit there's a problem then you pretty much suck. I should move on to Sketchup. At least that's a platform that does what it claims.
  6. I have been having the same rotate anomaly with 3d symbols (or rather UN-rotate) ever since switching to 2010. I literally thought I had gone bananas. It is a bug - should get fixed now without having to buy next year's copy. Very disappointing....
  7. You guys get any headway on this? I've got the same issue running vista-64bit and 4gigs. Seems a little insane that i need to pull 2 gigs out of my computer to make a dxf/dwg import work. Not that I'm doubting it... Just runs counter to what I'd expect in a modeling program.
  8. I had the same problem just today. Said "unknown" was the reason for not importing. Any ideas?
