I am unable to edit objects? Why can I not edit for example a simple square. No handles. I get a message this object has no edit behaviour? Thanks

Is there any way of editing worksheets directly without having to go through the plant data base? I would like make notes of plant nursery sources etc and place that information in the comment 1 section of the plant cost worksheet. Do I need to enter this information into the data base? I can cannot enter information directly into sheet columns when editing information? Thanks

I am working on a landscape design. I have made a sidewalk from a polygon extrude. I am unablle to texture the extrude. I have imported a texture (light concrete) and am using the the usual part overall in render mode. Why can I not texture this object? What do I need to check? Thanks.

I a designing a landscape plan with working drawings-Sections-Elevations- Site Model. I have a Grade Plan and would like to show a vertical scale for a section depicting the grade changes. I am unable to make a vertical scale showing the elevational changes on the sheet layer at the right scale. When I make such a scale on design sheet and create a Viewport for the sheet layer the vertical scale does not appear. I have checked to see if the class is active. What am I overlooking? Thanks.

I have a site model with residence and hardscaping in place. The property has some slope. I would like to place an existing driveway but am unable to place the driveway with the sloping grade? The driveway has varying grade. Can a reasonably accurate driveway be placed on the site model?

bcd, Thank you. I went back to the roof object and changed the fill to solid. Yes I have solid roof now. No shingle texture? I can change the roof colour but am unable to texture the roof with a shingle texture?

I would like to render a presentation sheet, illustrating a hardscape layout. I recently purchased the Renderworks module. I have constructed a site model with residence and hardscape layout which includes a multi level patio, exterior fireplace etc. I have been unable to texture the landscape. When I constructed the roof for the residence I get a shell but appears to be transparent and have not been able to apply a shingle texture. I have imported textures into the working file in the resource browser, but have been unable to apply them? I know that this should be basic stuff but? How do I apply a textured ground cover to the site model depicting lawn or softscape textures? Roof, siding or brick textures for the residence? Thanks,

I have just upgraded recently to VW2009. I have a landscape plan partially developed. I have transferred the file and changed the grades. When working on the VW2009 version and click on the update button the cut and fill volumes are not updates. The program freezes up. Why? Thanks.

I have completed a planting list and wish to forecast cost. I tryied using the VW plant list-cost work sheet. I cannot enter unit prices for plant material? How can I enter prices into the work sheet and calculate a project plant cost? Thanks.

I have created an 3D element for a landscape project. I want to do a constructin detail with dimensions. When I do the work on a design sheet I am able to dimension appropriately. I can do this for various views such as plan, front etc. However, when I create viewports and show on a sheet layer for presentation I am unable to produce the dimensions required. Is there a way of completing this task. What am I doing wrong. Thanks

I am working on a landscape project where I have created a DTM for the site. I have contours and elevations. The property is a rolling topography with slope. I would like to alter the site and create large garden beds by increasing the grade by varying increments that follows the existing grade lines. If I use the modify tool I am asked for a single elevation. However, I do not want to produce a pad which is flat. I need to produce a grade which slopes? How do I Produce a proposed DTM for this site? Can I calculate volumes required? Thanks for your help!

Thank you very much for your suggestions and assistance. Is the initial DTM produced using the existing elevations/data and the DTM using the Modifier proposed? I would like to excavate and back fill with an approiriate material. I thought that I would be constuctring a textured bed for the paver patio application. Is this correct? Thanks.

I have created a site model for a patio detail. The site model has elevation station ponts. I would like to excavated a volume of material which is unsuitable for the base. I will bring in an aggragate road base for a suitable base material. I have used the grader tool and set the elevations but am unable to produce a cut volume. How can I calculate a cut volume? Thank you very much. I created a design layer by tracing over the portion of the PDF that I was interested in and converted to an appropriate scale. I was able to complete the task at hand. I was trying to use the PDF directly. My Mistake. I will look in to the adobe illistrator as a future option. Thanks Ray and Monkey for all your time and help.

I would like to create a veiwport for a part of the plan that was sent to me in a PDF. I would like to change the patio configuration, add structual components and add plant material. However, when I started to create a viewport I ended up changing the scale and the plan became distorted. I am doing something wrong. How do I create a design layer from a PDF file? Thanks
