  1. I trashed all the net.nemetschek.plist files and it worked - window operation back to normal
  2. Thanks Benson. I just restored the Mac from backup last night, so the disk permissions should be clean (fyi my power supply went and corrupted my hard drive so we had to wipe it clean). However, the restore kept his annoying problem. Maybe I will try dragging the vectorworks 2009. plist to my desktop then starting up again. Shut down and re start don't work. Edit: dragging the above noted plist file to my desktop then restarting did not work
  3. We are off track here. My issue / question is not with the drawing windows it is with the dialogue window that pops up when you say "open drawing". It maximizes ever time, no matter if I resize. It is annoying.
  4. Ya, things are pretty good! Thanks, I tried that and my settings are identical to yours. When in full screen mode, if I hit the green + it makes it smaller and sticks in the lower left corner of the screen. I also tried turning the palette margins off, same results. bump, anyone know how to fix it? is it an OS issue?
  5. I feel really dumb asking this, and I am still a bit of a noob so go easy! The window that pops up when you open another drawing has a green + sign (Mac), this maximized the window. Now, no matter how I re-size it or hit the + again, the next time I go to open a drawing it is maximized again. It is starting to piss me off, does anyone know how to change that?
  6. Thanks for the reply. I am new to Vectorworks (December), and I did know that highlighting objects then holding Option down allows those objects to be copied. I did not know that holding Option down and clicking an object would place a copy directly on top - so thank you. However, I am getting 10 - 20 duplicates sometimes and I know it is not because of the Option click you describe (i.e. I wouldn't do that 20 times).
  7. I am getting really pissed off. There are parts of my drawings (elevations and sections) that have 10-15 copies of the lines and symbols stacked on top of each other. This is extremely frustrating and I don't think it is anything I am doing. I use the move by points command a lot, and am starting to suspect it is the problem - though I don't know how to fix it. Is anyone else having this problem?
  8. Since I posted, I realized it is not Spaces that makes my palettes disappear in VW, it is picking the VW icon in the tray when I am in another application. I find this a quick way of switching applications.
  9. I too have this problem when I uses Spaces. It is annoying, and VW is the only software on my machine with this issue. When I switch back to it from another space, the some of the pallets disappear. I was hoping this would be fixed in the last patch.
  10. Thanks gmm18, when I re-read the help it does say to drag.
  11. I apologize if this is elsewhere, I am new to the boards and to VectorWorks. I have worked on AutoCad for 16 years - started my own practice with a Mac and new software. I am still getting frustrated by simple things, which will probably be that way for a while. I am inserting a finish schedule and the worksheet keeps sorting the rooms by some unknown method. I can't seem to get it to sort the rooms in numeric order. Help.
