  1. I need to make a site model and have an old survey supplied as a DWG. On import the survey is 3D polys which I have converted to 2D polys and I am using the combine connect tool to remove line breaks. The problem is, every 2nd or 3rd line it will either not connect, cause one side to disappear, cause the contour line to change to an odd shape, or crash Vectorworks. Any tips on how to import survey data from a DWG and use it to create a site model?
  2. I get the following error when clicking the stair tool: "error occurred while opening plug-in. make sure there is a plug-ins folder in the same folder as the application." My VW app. is in app/vecrotworks, and there is a plug ins folder. VW2010. thanks
  3. can this be done on the default window schedule or does the whole schedule have to be custom?
  4. Thanks for the reply, but that's exactly the problem. When I use the sum tool, the opening sizes are added. So if there are two windows each 2 feet wide, the schedule reads one window 4 feet wide when it is summarized.
  5. I have searched quite a bit about this and it doesn't look like there has been an answer. Is it really impossible to summarize multiple windows and doors with the same id? i.e. I have five windows labeled w-01 and if I summarize them, the size of all five is added in the width and height column. Is there a way to create a schedule without listing multiples of the same window or door?
  6. This is my first time using Vectorworks for site modeling and I am following the manual step by step. I am viewing my plan in Plan View, drawing contour lines with the 2d poly tool. (lines are left open) Selecting the lines and then: AEC>Survey Input>2d polys to 3d contours The program goes to the first dialog and I leave the default elevation, interval and create 3d polygons. The second dialog comes up but the drawing is grayed with no poly selected, clicking next finishes the process with no result. What am I doing wrong? thanks
