Yes, it is possible to show the quantities in the tag of a Landscape Area. I have in the Tag Body section a custom tag option: ID&"-"&Quantity Putting only Quantity works also. If you put it the Tag Header section, it won't work. I've defined a custom unit (m2) in File->Document Settings->Units, but it doesn't show up in Landscape Area nor Hardscape. This would be very handy for me to get the locally used area unit in the tags of Landscpadpe Area and Hardscape...

I'm trying to export vw 2D/3D symbols to dwg. I've done separate 2D and 3D symbols to get them into dwg and it works fine, but the 3D objects loose their colour fill. They are all white. What am I doing wrong?

I'm trying to get two/three values (ID and colour/ type) into one cell from a record, but I need a little help. I just can't get the formula right... The result should be something like this: Object ID, Type, Colour

The plants are in None class. Tags are in Plant-Component-Tags class and the Fill is set to None, but I want it to have Solid fill. How do I get it?

There are no points, 3D locis or 3D polygons on wrong z-level to make such a result. This might be a bug. I've purchased the Contour tool set, but haven't had the time to test it in a larger scale, but looks great. Having a 3D polygon as a site modifier would be nice...

I'm having a problem with Site Model... I try to manipulate the Site Model with "Stake object from 3D locus" -command, but the result is odd. See attached file.

V.2011 seems to work properly. I've done a lot of plant symbol editing and VW hasn't crashed!

Yesterday I edited my plant library and the plant symbols: VW crashed at least 20 times! I ran into this issue in v.11, then v.2008 and still in v.2010. Why this issue isn't solved? All bugs should be fixed before a new version release, imo. Has v.2011 still the bug? And with the editing I mean changing the symbols color/hatch, nothing very complex... Frustrated... wishing for a bug free software...

Here is what I did in 10 minutes... A lazy man's edit, just randomly deleting layers. I've done a lot of work with distortions with the non-rectilinear hatches and I've managed to solve most of them. It's relatively easy, but it takes a lot of time.

It behaves quite well. It's not flawless, but ok. I tried it on area approximately 5 hectares and it works, very heavy though. I downloaded it somewhere, don't remember where... it's a part of larger collection of hatches.

Here is an example of a 655 layer hatch, pretty complex, I'd say. I could edit the hatch, and get the result I want, but it's too much work...

Any ideas how to create a hatch like this?

I usually do my planning in scale 1:100. But if I need to change the scale to 1:200, the hatches in hardscapes becomes half the size of normal. And if I change the scale to 1:50 the hatch will be doubled.

I am having an odd problem with the Landscape Area-tool. I want to have a circle shaped planting area, but I can't get the inner border style to match with the outer border style (see attached file). I've tried several methods to get the desired result: with two circles and clip surface command, with two line polygon-tool and polygon with clip surface command. No results... I know that one way is to use the Place plant-tool, but I think it should be able with the Landscape Area-tool too.

Am I the only one with this problem? It seems that even editing the hatches won't help. Do I have to recreate the hatches from scratch? I have many very complex hatches with 10-30 levels! EDIT: I finally got it! The hatches had background fill. Removing the background fill fixed the problem!

The hatches are from a vw-file prior to wv2010. I edited the hatch and the borders inner line became visible. Is this a bug? Same happens with hatches imported from a dwg-file. I hope there will be a fix to overcome this issue. I have more than 100 paving hatches and I don't want to edit them all.

I have a problem with hardscape borders. When I use a hatch of my own, the inner border line seems to dissapear when using the spaced joints pattern. This doesn't happen with the hatches shipped with the vectorworks installation dvd.

Vectorworks does not found the Vectorworks dongle after shutdown/sleep. I have to disconnect/reconnect the dongle to be able to use Vectorworks. I have tried with the newest driver and the one shipped with vw2010 dvd. I've tried allmost every possible way to get it work, without any luck. This didn't happen on Leopard, but when I updated to Snow Leopard the problem occured (with vw2008 and vw2010). I even called the local distributor, but they haven't heard about any similar case.

As in the custom title block video one saves the new symbol into the (C:\Program Files\VectorWorks 2008\Libraries\Defaults\Drawing Border - Title Blocks\)Standard Title Blocks.vwx -file, you can delete it from there. Just open the file you want and select from the Resource Browser the symbol(s), rigth click and select delete.

I use the duplicate command on place plant tool and give the new plant its definitions. I save the new edited plants to a certain file, that I have added to favourite files in resource browser. I mostly use the same plants so it's easy to pick them up... I only use about 10 different symbols for plants.

I'm having a same kind of issue: the SP3 installation fails. An error message appears during installation (88% finished) and a popup says that more information on failure can be seen on InstallerLog.txt, but root for the log does not exist nor the log file. I've downloaded the sp3 zip file for several times on different days but I haven't solved the problem.
