  1. Hi All, I am trying to import an office chair that is in a .3ds file format. When I import it, it comes in fine with all textures. But, not all of the textures are mapped on to the chair. Only 2 are mapped. I thought these files didn't need any mapping adjustments. Or do I have to map the textures to the file? Does VW/RW do something with the 3ds that causes this? Anyone have any ideas?? Thanks, Jody
  2. Tom, Sorry for the time it took to respond. I will try this out. BTW, can these files be extruded? The PNG & EPS? Thanks for the help. I appreciate it. Jody
  3. Hi All, Im having a problem with getting .ai files into VW properly. (I think) Currently, I export the .ai file (CS3) to a .dwg, then import the .dwg in VW. The main problem is when I bring in a logo that has a "P" "R" "O" "A" any leter that has a "hole" in it, it comes in as a solid letter. No "hole." I have to make the hole and do a subtract solids. Is this the right way to do this? Or is there an easier way? Thanks, Jody
  4. Thanks for the suggestion Benson, I ended up going back to my original asset image (a high res photoshop image) and re-exported it to a new .jpg image with a new name. I remapped it and it works great now. I think the .jpg that was brought in originally was corrupt somehow. Jody
  5. Hi All, I am having a mapping issue that hopefully someone can help with. I am mapping images to some LDC screens that I have made. All are coming out great except for 2 (See Image_01.) These in particular the mapping comes out blurry. Everything else looks great (Image_02.) I have tried re-making the LCD screen and remapping. Also, I have deleted the texture image and brought it in again. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jody
  6. BTW after I get the checkerboard on my screen, I try to re-render in Open GL VW, crashes.
  7. Hi All, I am rendering a project in F.Q.RW. And I am seeing something odd. Sometimes when I render, the render status bar at the top right hand corner shows it only rendered the geometry and I get the gray & white checkerboard on my screen. Any advice on this anomaly? Thanks, Jody
  8. Pat, Thank you for the info. It worked awesome, I really appreciate it. I will be updating to VW2008 soon. Jody
  9. Hi All, I have heard about getting a "SketchUp" Style Render by duplicating viewports. Is this true? If so, how is it accomplished? Thanks, Jody
  10. Sorry it took so long to reply, been sick. I have updated, restarted, items are textureable and no groups. I have not tried turning off auto save. I will try it. Thanks, Jody
  11. Hi All, I'm having a problem with VW 12.5 crashing in the process of mapping textures. I have used the same process in other projects and no crashing. Has anyone else experienced this? Any suggestions? Help me Obi Wan Kenobi, you're my only hope. Thanks, Jody VW 12.5 Intel Core 2 Duo 2.33 Mac OS 10.4.11 3GB RAM
  12. Hi Dave, Thanks a lot for the info. That's exactly what the problem was. I reduced the pixel size, brought it in as a new texture and there it was. Thanks again.
  13. Hi All, I am fairly new to the CAD world. I am having problems mapping some images to objects. I have done it before, but it is not working right this time. I see the mapped image in the "Edit Mapping" tool, and a black box in the OI & RB for my textures. I may just be suffering from E.S.O.(Equipment Smarter than Operator.) I'm using VW 12.5, Mac OS 10.4.11 2.33 GHz Intel, & 3 GB ram. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks - Jody
