If I understand you correct, you are talking about the old "polylops" that were essentially 3d polylines that could be sized in the dialog box and then textured if needed. These have gone away in 2008. Instead of the image props use the artistic color-wash objects. There is no option for just a line drawing 3d plant unless you import the old objects in from ver. 12.

It appears to be a bug. Simple work around. Go into the worksheet editor. Click on database headers, Click on Row 3, Column C under Botanical name - enter ='Plant Record'.'Latin Name' This will fix the problem

At Vectorfest, there was a demonstration working with the various types of records, worksheets, etc. One thing that was used was a method of recording open spaces such as the total sq. ft. of putting greens. Was the tool used to define the putting green size the space tool in Architect? thks

Pete I have two graphs - they seem to copy each other. My video card has 256 meg on board. 2008 seems to require a lot more of everything. While I am typing this, I am waiting about 5 min. for the processor to catch up. It is averaging 70 -90%

We need Boomerang to work with the plant placement tool in 2008 as it did in Ver. 12

Can we make this adjustable or at least have a reasonable length. One has to zoom way in to see it even exists in 2008. As it presently exists, it looks bad graphically.

I am wondering about computer improvements to get better response time when modifying graphics etc. When I move a post, it will take up to 10 seconds for this to happen. My processor does not spike, but only runs at about 50-75%. I do not know if this is a video card, processor, ram, etc. issue. My machine is a Pentium 4, 3.00 GHz, 3.00 GB of ram, with a Radeon X850 series video card with 256 meg of ram. XP Pro Service Pack 2. Too much work to post image. I work mostly in OpenGL for basics. Any suggestions, thks How do I insert an image.

Benson I agree it is not just a VW problem. I also understand the issues of not all the data being on certain layers/classes. It would be nice to be able to highlight a class to see all that is represented and then make the decision. In my case, I usually want a pretty striped down file, so it is usually easy to identify if something is missing. I do have certain firms that I work with that I will add extra time to the proposal just to get the dwg. straightened out.

Jonathan Is this something by itself or part of one of your packages?

My reasoning for this tool is that often I need to identify and turn off up to 30+ classes that are turned on from files that I get from Architects and Engineers. They (no offence) are hard to train. thks

Does the boomrang function not work when using the plant placement tool. I notice when I pan the screen while placing plant that the plant placement tool quits. If so, I need the boomrang function back.

In the past, the zoom tool was in the menu command allowing it to assigned to the right mouse button. I cannot find it in 2008. Is there away to assign it to activate on the right button menu's.

Is anyone aware of a tool that allows an object to be selected and turned off without having to go the navigation box.

Is there a tool (seems like I saw one someplace) where I can click on an object to turn off its class. Many times I get dwg from consultants and it takes quite awhile to get the dwg setup the way I want. thks

I have only done this on a constant sloping parking lot. Use the double polygon tool set to 6". Draw the curbs, use arc smoothing to create radius. Extrude to create 3d curb.

I am finding a verrrrry slow plotting issue with 2008. Same file in Vs. 12 works fine. Any suggestions

Robert My machine worked fine with ver.12.5.2. With 2008, I am getting screen flickering, unexplainable slow downs, to the point of hanging. I am trying to isolate the issue, but have not seen anything that I can repeat other than it happens after an hour or so. I have updated my video drivers. I do find that when placing plants with the poly-edged space mode, that I have to move alot slower and can not pan the screen or I loose the string of plants.

Admittedly not the smartest computer nerd, after all I am a design guy,is there away to sort out all the plants that are in zones 1 - 7. I can get all the plants in zone 5, but how do I get all the plants in 1-7? Also, is there a way to add a column that shows hardiness zones? This is in VW 2008.

If you have any of the modules with DTM, use the road tool.
