  1. Ok here is a image of the attic window and how I would like the shutters to be.
  2. taoist, I just purchased Interiorcad XS but haven't received my activation code yet, can't wait. Question though, Does it allow you to use any sink symbol or any other 3D symbols or do you have to purchase the "Extra Blocks" that Extragroup sells?
  3. Doesn't the offset from jamb just move each individual shutter either left or right? I would think that they both need to move forward as if they were sitting on top of the jamb. I have an attic window which is a 2030 window with shutters and the shutters look correct and the settings are the same. I will just use the offset from jamb and move them far enough from the window to keep them from intruding on the jamb.
  4. Ok, here is a larger rendering.
  5. It is in the middle of rendering a new one. I will post a larger image shortly.
  6. What would cause the shutters to do this. If you look at the attachment you will see the shutters are inset into the jamb of the window. The should be sitting on top of the jamb not embedded into it, correct? How do I fix this?
  7. Can you post the file so I can play around with it? Save it to 2008 I don't have my 2011 edition here at the office.
  8. Din I agree. The question is do we have to model it or is there a way to adjust it to do that?
  9. How can I fix the way these windows fit in this curved wall. It shows wrong on my viewport sheet layers as well.
  10. Is there a way to edit the shape of the railings? What about the number of horizontal members? It shows four but I only want the top and bottom ones. I would also like to change the shape of the balusters.
  11. In addition to the screen shot that I just added above. I also tried Kevin's suggestion of using the paint bucket but it wants to snap to objects that are behind the ones I want to fill. How can I get it to fill only what you see in the viewport and not the ones that are hidden by the ones in the foreground?
  12. Ok, Now I have a new issue with extracted planar objects. When I export a PDF of the elevations I only want the ones in the front to show and they look fine if I rendering it and look at it through the viewport. However, when I export it to a PDF all planar objects that are behind the front ones that I want to render show through so I get the outlines of the additional ones. I have even applied an opaque texture as to not allow that but they still show through. Is there another way to accomplish this with the planar objects? I have attached a screen shot of what is happening when I export it to a PDF.
  13. Ok, so I am trying to extract a planar object from a wall and apply a hatch to it so it appears in my hidden line viewport on my sheet layer. I want to be able to show in my elevations different hatchings without have to hand draw them. All seems to be working great except when I have a curved wall. It will extract the planar object and I can apply a hatch to it but it does not show up in a hidden line rendering. The same thing happens when I have a curved portion of a roof face that I have extracted. The hatch pattern does not show up on the viewport in hidden line. Any ideas how to fix this without having to go back in and hand draw the missing hatches?
  14. Is there a quick way to add handrails to a balcony or porch? Or is it best just to model it? I wasn't sure if there is something I was missing (a feature).
  15. BCD, Ok, I downloaded the file you uploaded and just for giggles tried to run the create roof tool on the edited poly you created and it does not work on my machine. I even set everything as you had on the roof object that is in the file and still no luck. Must be a bug. I am going to send the file in and see if they can reproduce the error in VW2011.
  16. BCD can you post the VW file that you created? I have recreated it several times and it either locks up or crashes.
  17. Thanks everyone. I will go back into my file and make sure all walls are drawn correctly.
  18. Taoist that is pretty much what I was trying to do. If you don't mind me asking what was the other software you used to create it?
  19. Everyone, I am trying to model this roof and I am getting the "Roof is too complex to computer" error and no matter how much I edit it, I can't get it to draw it. Any help is greatly appreciated. I have included the VW file as well as a screen shot.
  20. It would be nice to be able to add gutters without having to model them manually.
  21. I believe that would have to be modeled.
  22. Jonathan I don't know if you have ever looked at Joomla for websites but it is a very easy content management site (CMS) and it is free. There is a program called Artisteer that is similar to the software you were looking at. However, it gives you the ability to make entire HTML/CSS based websites as well as templates for several other CMS based sites such as Wordpress and DotNetNuke just to name a few. http://www.joomla.org http://www.artisteer.com
  23. No. I know how to use the slab tool but never used it for a ceiling.
  24. Didn't know that method, but this is a picture of what I am trying to model using the ceiling grid
  25. I am trying to use the ceiling grid tool and create a "Boxed" area using the push and pull tool. However, I cannot seem to get it to work correctly. Does anyone have a better way to achieve that? It just sits there. Now if I do just a cut out in the ceiling it works fine.
