  1. I am having crashes if I convert a file over from 2023 into 2024 and I use the pan tool. It will lock up my entire system. I don't have that problem with the same file in 2023 or if I create a brand new file in 2024. I am running windows 11 Pro 64-bit, not sure if that matters either.
  2. Yeah. I have reached out to them. Waiting on them to reply on next steps. I checked the other thread you mentioned Pat. I did the repair in the advanced options and it said it fixed 1 file, but still won't update. Hopefully they will have a solution to fix my problem.
  3. Yes, I have tried that as well. I have even tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program.
  4. Pat I tried that. I even added the updater app to be allowed to work through my firewall.
  5. I am trying to update Vectorworks 2024 to the latest 2.1 update using the updater app. It tells me to quit Vectorworks and then click "Start" which I do. However, that message continuously comes up even though the program is not running and the update never happens. Any ideas on what to do?
  6. Thank you Kevin for giving me a call and all of your help. This definitely helped a lot.
  7. Hey Kevin, try calling me again. I was on the phone.
  8. Kevin, This is from a client. They the front of the roof to flare up and a very small portion of the back of the roof to flare up. I thought about using a slab object with the slab drainage tool to possibly create it.
  9. Actually the two circled areas should be Valley's not Hips.
  10. Hello everyone. How would you all model this roof? The larger portion of the upper roof is 2:12 and slopes according to the arrows. The two circled areas are 2:12 and do slope at that same angle as the main portion but need to be flared up also with the slope direction of the arrows on their faces. So I literally have a roof face that is angled/sloped in two directions with a valley between the two. I cannot for the life of me figure out the way to do this. Any help is greatly appreciated.
  11. For some reason when I run this command the walls do not go all the way to the underside of the roof. It leaves about a foot or more below the bottom of the roof. What could be causing this?
  12. I have never really messed with the steel framing members. Are there options for different connections?
  13. But the main steel columns and the main steel rafters would have to be modeled to match the shapes above, correct?
  14. Can anyone tell me the best way to model a steel frame building like this one? I know the structural framing member tool allows you to select different framing members, but I don't see any that match the tapered columns and main frame rafters like the one in this example. I assume they have to be modeled?
  15. That was it. I don't know how I turned that off.
  16. Ok, I don't know what I have done, but I cannot select anything. I have layer options set to "Show/Snap/Modify Other" and I am in Top/Plan view and I am on the main floor level. I can draw new objects and select and modify them, but all other items cannot be selected, modified or moved. Is there something that locks all items. Please help!!!
  17. Let me check. What I am actually trying to achieve is that the stair after the break be transparent so I can see items beneath it, such as cabinets, countertops, etc.
  18. That didn't work either. Any other ideas? I am stumped, never had this happen before.
  19. Hi Christiaan. I did that and even set the fill to none and it still shows as solid. Is there something else I should be checking/changing?
  20. Hello everyone, Why is my stair break showing solid and not dashed? I want to be able to see behind it on the first floor were it breaks. What do I need to change to achieve this.
  21. Hello everyone. What would cause the fascia of my roof, when turned on to be above the roof. I am using a stories setup.
  22. Ok, I figured it out. It had to do with the size I had the symbol scaled to. Thank you everyone for your help.
  23. I tried both of those Pat and there was no change.
  24. Good evening everyone, So I created this detail symbol and for some reason the annotations are leaders are showing up very large. However, when I place the symbol in my drawings it appears fine. What is causing this and how do I fix it.
  25. Hello everyone, I apologize if this has already been asked. I have downloaded an STL file from Thingverse and I want to be able to edit the file and manipulate it. Is there a procedure to do this in VW? Do I need to convert the file to something first?
