i'm Convinced! i'm afraid i am a remnant of the days when VW catered for a Mech class so i still expect a little more along those lines, never considered ArchiCAD, but VW can learn a lot here. Nice example Vincent. Thanx.

i'm really not keen on Vincent's 100% Mouse orientated ideal, but unless the HUD is fixed when it appears, chasing it with the cursor would be more akin to gaming than CAD so i'm really fond of "The More Keyboard Orientated the Better"(as long as they are easy to find/access), but we all have to be content with VW so, the Mouse can survive for a few more releases. But it must be easy and practical and Above All, Intuitive without all the required options being hidden or locked or just forgotten about until someone complains about them being missing. Grant's Hot Key suggestion sounds best, IMHO.

This is one of my pet hates with VW. It should be a cake walk to create a "Perfect" stair rail with something like the EAP tool, but despite improvements, easy isn't one of the best words to use to describe it. It's still not easy to edit simple shapes to perfect paths. i know it's not what this discussion is about, but basic tools should have been perfected by now. Would also mean the fear of having to struggle or loose time working to resolve a hand rail correction, would not create an obstacle. IMHO Andrew

Benson i really like the learning user habits, particularly not the bad ones. Should also have an option to learn the bad habits you prefer though. The Rails analogy is also just perfect. Something i've wanted for ever, again with the option to keep it flat if wished. Great selection Benson.

Not too keen on the ribbon in VW either. Dockable palettes with several options on display and use however, Custom option to suit all?

Sorry, but i must disagree, i still prefer Layers. There may be so tidying up that could be done to make Layers more "Field" specific, but . . . .

Yep, NURBS are great to work with but VW's Export Communication Skills need an overhaul.

This is all still TOO MUCH BUGGERIN' ABOUT. Both VW and 3DConnection cost a hefty chunk of cash, the only controls i want to have to fiddle with are those on the real 3DCon.

+2 Switching from 2 to 1 has always been a pain as well, lost palettes, loss of placement when returning(even worse, needing to reorganise everything back to "Custom" comfort zone as sometimes the Workspace wouldn't register) etc. etc.

Maybe a rethink along the line of "Save Absolutely EVERYTHING" when one "Saves" would be in order, including all prefs. Other Apps seem to remember what was open prior too tripping over their laces, or someone elses.
