  1. Does anyone else have the selection indicator not visible when zoomed in close. I mainly work in 1/4" and no matter what's selected (walls, lines, symbols, etc ) I keep finding myself needing to zoom out and then back in to see the indicator. In fact, I notice that similarly, while drafting sometimes (specifically with the space tool) I'll be zoomed in to snap to an object and then pan to snap to another but my line or square is no longer visible unless I zoom out.
  2. After submitting a bug I received a follow up email within a week asking for more details about the problem.
  3. I've called Tech Support ((410) 290-5114) some 50 times during the past 6 months and am generally (about 90% of the time) put through to somebody in 2-3 minutes. I have had some issue with using VW but the customer service offered by NNA is not one of them... your issue getting through to someone, while understandably frustrating, is not the norm.
  4. Thanks DWorks. Mind you I didn't set up the file, but I've never come across this before. In fact, it wouldn't have crossed my mind that you could have different origins on different sheets.
  5. I just opened a file and realized that the origin is different on a number of sheet layers. Is there a way to set the origin to the center of the page universally?
  6. The Constraints Palette under your Windows tab is a place to set your constraints.
  7. Fixed! Placed the Landscape layer at the top of the order on the viewport and everything is gravy now... though I don't understand why.
  8. Problem exists always and on multiple PCs.
  9. I'm experiencing strange behavior on a file. One sheetlayer contains multiple symbols (They're condo units) and they are only visible when zoomed in close on the sheetlayer. If you zoom out they disappear and if you batch export or print to pdf they are not visible. One correlation that I've determined is that included in the viewport is a design layer viewport (Landscape plan for what it's worth) and when I turn it off the problem does not exist... the DLVP is bottom of the stacking order and grayed.
  10. So I have a design layer viewport grayed on a sheet layer viewport, but when I export it to a PDF it shows visible and prints visible. Is this a bug?
  11. Thanks Wes. That is what I was doing, but I was confused when the marker wasn't visible and the window seemed to move. Ultimately, I attached the ID Marker to a 2D polygon over the object in plan view... worked fine. If you're interested, attached is my object. Click on the marker and you'll see an object highlighted that is not the shape of my window. Then go into Top view to see the window... still need to dial in the nature of 3D objects.
  12. If you're working with a site model and are essentially cutting away at it (ie, road, footprint, etc.), is there away to subtract from it?
  13. I needed to create a corner window and did so via a simple object extrusion/add solids. Now I'd like to assign this object a marker and attach it to my window schedule. I don't need any parametrics such as dimensions but would like it to simply locate to it's right place in ascending order when recalculating. I assume this could be done with the ID Tool but am not certain about how to go about it.
  14. Side Note: Though you're probably are aware of this, I've had many people express this option as a good way in VW and other programs to check or even establish billings. However, all the file needs is to be opened to accumulate time... so even if it's not being worked on it's logging time.
  15. To learn how to attach a file, in addition to a few other Message Board features, checkout this thread: http://techboard.vectorworks.net/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=79098&page=1#Post79098
  16. Is it possibly just a class management issue?
  17. You may want to attach an example of a file or at least an image of the problem.

    Lighting Problems

Don't know what the problem was, but I literally just needed to change a light bulb... I went through my lights deleting one at a time until the problem was resolved.

    Lighting Problems

Correction, I now notice that any time one group of lights are on, the others are not... in all my saved 3D views.
  20. I have a 3D view saved with multiple "groups" of lights (Lamps, downlights, etc) and they don't all go on at the same time. But if I have each group displayed separately they work work fine.
  21. Katie, Sent you the file but just saw it got bounced back... probably too large. So I copied the drawing and dropped out the elements not related to the issue to decrease the file size. I just rendered it so I could cloud the trouble spot and the break line between floors did not appear... at least that's telling me it's not my drafting. I'll try to recreate the issue and forward you the file at some point today.
  22. This example, though only one story, uses a second story wall for a parapet as it will be constructed. Why do some views show a line where the floors meet as in the cloud on the right and most don't as in the cloud on the left. I have a few work arounds, but if there's a way to prevent this it would help me from having to keep editing these scenarios.
  23. Enter the worksheet then edit the column... very similar to Excel spreadsheets.
