    Try wine, I've got VW 8.5.1 running under it with Ubuntu 7.10

    FWIW I've been running an older version of VW (8.5) for a while under wine, works OK. I'd still very much prefer a native version as running in wine seems to keep the CPU pegged and the fonts aren't quite right (that may be fixable).
