I would like to create a level symbol that shows the Y coordinate of the symbol insertion and it update automatically. I would like to position on the drawing and whenever I move vertically, the level text to update automatically. Can anyone help ? Thanks

I would like to build a model in Vectorworks and then turn this model into a construction sequence animation. The model is already done. i.e. starting with the concrete piles disappearing into the ground, the ground beams then being cast. The walls being built upwards and then in simple terms the roof coming from the sky to its final resting place. A lot of the packages I have been looking at are simple movies along a line, or that you have simple object animation (turning around itself). There used to be an application years ago that was very simple to use and would have done most of the above but was bought out by another company. Which would be the best package to export the model to so that I could achieve the above. Thanks

I am trying to export a sheet layer that have some class attributes changed for the viewport (walls shown dotted instead of solid). When I export and test reimport, the class gets defaulted back to the original and not as shown on the sheet layer viewport. Is there an easy way to get round this problem ? Thanks Damo

As stated previously, QTVR is limited to just viewing and rotating the model, think what could be done if you could send a model that the classes could be stripped down to exactly what you want to see (just structure for example), do your own sections, lighting and views. 3DPDF rocks in my opinion !

Yes, I understand we have been able to do this for a while with VR. The idea of being able to send a model to PDF with class information that anyone can turn on or off and play around with light sources and do there own sections is 'sexy' or am I the only one that thinks this ?

Hi, Can anyone tell me if there is a way of converting my 3d model in Vectorworks to PDF. I know Bentley microstation has an export feature that can do this. Or is there a way round this. Thanks Damo

Katie (or anyone), I have a couple MiniCad 4-5 files in my archives that I really need converting to Vectorworks 12. Can you let me know if there is a way of converting these please. Really important !!!! Thanks very much. Damian O'Neill
