  1. Bingo. Worked by running in Xp compatability mode. (right click executable, choose properties, click compatability tab, run this proggy in Win XP SP2) thanks for the hint.
  2. Just tried importing DXF 2004... can't do that either. It returned this error: DXF/DWG Import Started at: 2/19/08 1:14:02 PM Source Folder: X:\Zip\2007\2949-POS sensor tap design\Design & Detail\Concept\ticket-dwg\ Destination Folder or File: C:\Program Files (x86)\VectorWorks 2008\Templates\Untitled1 -------------------------- DETAILS -------------------------- FILE RESULT OF IMPORTING ---- ------------------- ticket.dwg FAILURE: Unknown reasons -------------------------- SUMMARY -------------------------- Total files examined: 1 Total files successfully imported: 0 Total files not imported: 1 Not a DXF or DWG file: 0 Unknown reasons: 1 DXF/DWG Import Started at: 2/19/08 2:01:52 PM Source Folder: X:\Energizer\2006\2542-Energizer-3x3 roadshow stand\Concepts\Drawings\ Destination Folder or File: C:\Program Files (x86)\VectorWorks 2008\Templates\Untitled1 --------------------------------- DETAILS --------------------------------- FILE RESULT OF IMPORTING ---- ------------------- side-cupboard.dwg FAILURE: Unknown reasons --------------------------------- SUMMARY --------------------------------- Total files examined: 1 Total files successfully imported: 0 Total files not imported: 1 Not a DXF or DWG file: 0 Unknown reasons: 1 DXF/DWG Import Started at: 2/19/08 2:06:56 PM Source Folder: X:\Zip\2006\2548-Mobile Display\Concepts\Drawings\ Destination Folder or File: C:\Program Files (x86)\VectorWorks 2008\Templates\Untitled1 --------------------------------- DETAILS --------------------------------- FILE RESULT OF IMPORTING ---- ------------------- Graphic1.dxf FAILURE: Unknown reasons --------------------------------- SUMMARY --------------------------------- Total files examined: 1 Total files successfully imported: 0 Total files not imported: 1 Not a DXF or DWG file: 0 Unknown reasons: 1
  3. Hi Guys, I've sent in a ticket thing to support for this but no reply yet. Would appreciate help if someone knows instantly what's going on... Problem: DXF/DWG does not do anything. I've read This threadwith the same problem. Brand new PC, brand new VW 2008 Fundamentals but no dxf export. I drew a simple shape (or use an existing project), click File>Export>Export DXF/DWG but nothing happens. Nothing. No erros, no thunder, zippo. Just like the other thread. Efforts to resolve I've edited the workspaces to no avail. Tried different files. Trialled under standard and classic and modified workspaces. System VW 2008 Fundamentals Sp2 (Build 83388)Up to date. Vista Business 64Bit (up to date) Intel Quad core q6600 Nvidia 8800gt (latest drivers) Corsair RAM 4-4-4-12 4Gb Cinema 4D MS Ofiice 2003 CorelDraw X3 and stuff.
  4. The French will never surrender to that, petercard! Our reseller has just informed me that VW2008 with SP1 runs with Vista 64bit and 4Gb ram. Yippeeee! (The release notes didn't specifically say Vista 64Bit only: Now over to the CD4 forums
  5. So. Here I sit with five licenses waiting to be upgraded to VW2008. It's going to cost us thousands of dollars in new software and hardware. We're a small company and this money means a lot to us but hopefully we'll reap the benefits of greater productivity. CD4 runs fine on Vista 64bit with 4GB ram taking full advantage of the four core Intel chip thus speeding up our productivity. Updating Vectorworks, on the other hand; sigh, means I have to strip out 2GB of RAM thus crippling the other software. Even IF VW 2008 did run with 4Gb we'd still have to delay upgrading until someone in France can patch the CD4 Exchange plugin. To me it seems that it's in Nemetschek's interest to help out with the plugin 'coz-we-ain't-gunna-doing-no-stinkin-upgrade until everything works together. In the meantime we're losing money in lost productivity... Of course, it'd be Christmas come early if someone can contradict our predicament
