  1. Hi again, I seem to be having this problem with another file! Now using vwx 2017. I have stripped out the file in question and attached below. If I export the title block from this file to any new file it works as intended, so it must be a problem within the file itself. (Its worth mentioning that this file would originally have been created in vwx 2009, and updated to 2016 and now 2017 - so I imagine this is the root cause of the problem?) Regards, Anthony Vwx_2017_Sheet_Border_Not_Working_AA.vwx
  2. Hi, Also having similar troubles! I tried to follow the link but is broken with the new forums - Could you post a new link, or the name of Pat's script so I can search for it? I tried a search for 'Pat Stanford's script' but I see he has created a whole bunch and not sure what I need.. Unless of course a simpler way has been created by now to do this??
  3. Thanks - Great! Now I just have to convince the team in the office to make the upgrade from 2016..
  4. Hi Tom, Just to clarify, do you mean we can now create and use window/door types?? I can't seem to find any information about this on the forum or elsewhere! (Apart from requests for these features..)
  5. benboggs; Thanks for your reply - I can't really post up the file, but I will see if I can recreate the problem or if it arises again and post here if and when.
  6. Hi all, I'm having a bit of an issue with Sheet Titles on Sheet Borders/Titles Blocks. I've recently set up new title blocks with linked record files, so that the title block takes its name from the sheet name etc. This has been working OK, until I tried to make some changes to the blocks today. Since this, one of the files I have been working on refuses to link title block to sheet title information etc. I can only assume somethings going on with some broken reference or duplicated symbol id#. I thought I would simply make a new title block in the default sheet border/title block file, with a new record file, and a new name, and use this. However the new block I created still does not work with this one particular file. It DOES work with other files, i.e. if I create a new file, add a sheet border, pick the new title block; this will create the appropriate Sheet no, sheet name etc links. Any ideas?? Thanks, Anthony
  7. Wes, Thanks for the pointers, I think thats all starting to make sense! Anthony
  8. Wes - Thanks! You're right after a bit of perseverance I have managed to get the concrete to carry through as intended using the component join tool. However I would still like to know how vwx decides which wall type component to prioritise - Why has it decided that (in my case) the CLT is the higher priority? Is it based on class hierarchy perhaps? Or some internal list of materials vwx keeps? There must be some system in place for the software to make this decision (Sort of like viewing order, i guess).
  9. Hi all, I've been learning to use the wall tools with various buildups/joint types, and generally have found it pretty straightforwards. However I've hit one internal corner I can't seem to get to work. It is between two wall types I have created, one where the 'core' layer is concrete, and one with a 'core' layer of cross laminated timber. When I try to create a corner joint, seemingly however I approach it, the concrete retaining wall runs into the external face of the CLT and stops. However we want this to be the other way around - CLT running into concrete and stopping. I've recorded a quick video showing my attempts - link below: I've also attached a screenshot showing a bodge job of what I'd like the connection to look like. Can anyone offer any help?? Thanks! Anthony
  10. Did you ever find any resolution to this? I'm having a similar problem. It appears to be when the referenced objects are part of a group, I can't snap to say the junction of two lines. If I go back to the original file and ungroup, then update the reference, the snap starts working.
  11. Hi All, I am looking for an earth hatch (such as the OP was after), but can't seem to access the link at the top or attachments. I'm guessing these don't work since the forum moved? Could someone post up again please? Thanks!
  12. twk - Thanks, just used the python version of the script you posted, appears to work for me without issue!
  13. Thanks for your replies - I'm still having problems with the script. I can now seem to get it to scale, but only after a huge number of error boxes of 'no objects selected'. I've recorded a short video showing my process, perhaps I'm going wrong somewhere? Screen Recording Link - If anyone has any advice I'd be greatful as its a very useful tool! Thanks
  14. JimW, Thanks for your response - Yes I have been able to replicate the problem with that method. Is this a bug? Or does vwx do this for some other reason I am not aware of?
  15. Hi All, I hope this is a simple one - I'm having problems with the 'Plane Mode' options in Document Preferences. I keep selecting 'Screen Plane Only', as we are working on a 2D drawing all previously drawn in the screen plane. However it frequently appears to switch to 'Layer Plane Only', and I can't work out why. Perhaps there is some shortcut key command I keep inadvertantly pressing? Or some sort of saved view setting/trigger I am not aware of? I thought perhaps it would be something to do with using my saved views, but this doesn't seem to be the case. Any ideas? Thanks, Anthony
  16. Just upgraded from 2009 to 2016, and can't seem to get this script to work anymore. Does anyone know if there is now a way to do this in the more recent vwx releases? P.S. Thanks to Pat, as I was using this in the past and saved me a lot of time!
  17. Hi, I have also had a similar problem occur - we have just upgraded in the office from .vwx 2009 - 2016 a few days back, and have had this occur twice so far. I'm not sure exactly what triggered it, but I was exploring screen/layer planes and rotating the view using the orbit tool when it occurred the second time.
