We're working on a couple public notifications. It appears Apple has broken some aspects of image handling in macOS update 15.4. We have reported the issue to Apple.
@Gunther—If you have the time it'd be great to understand what those aspects are, as they relate to VWX files.

MAybe reference the sheet into the VWX,. so you update the XLSX then re-calculate the sheet, as I remember

Thanks for your thoughts Benson,
Both the design layer and the view port were in Top/plan. I copied the objects into a new file and made a new viewport. The 2d poly tool now bucket fills the objects correctly without any strange offsets.
I then went back to the original file and made a new viewport on the original sheet layer... which is VP #2. And it fills correctly.
So, retested VP#1 and it still didn't fill correctly. I then copied VP#1 and Made VP#3 and found that I also fills correctly. I then went back to my original VP#1 retested it again, found that it now fills correctly as well. It seems that the simple act of coping the VP caused something that was stuck to unstick itself.
This is the way

Hey there @Andy Broomell, curious about why you use the renderworks camera. What upside is there to that tool the video camera doesn’t have?

I suggest you call to support on that one.
between posting & returning now, I did that very thing. Full Disk Access was clicked off for VWX 2025 & VWX Installer 2025 in Mac OS 15.3.1 system settings
Re-asserted - things seem fine for now
Thanks to VWX tech phone support

Hello,
I've placed hundreds of existing trees, then I realised that there are some duplicates. After removing them, there remained a gap in the numbering. Is there a prompt for renumbering them? Or how can I fix it easily? I've tried it in the worksheet, but it takes a lot of time renumbering them one by one.
Thank you,
Look at the Savvy Sequencer plugin by Josh Benghiat: It'll number pretty much anything, including filling record fields—might do what you need.

@JustinVanHassel I do appreciate your lengthy reply as it fills in many data holes & clarifies the many moving parts , individuals & groups with input on the VWX side alone

Regarding the sample file @Tom W. sent me. Neither PDF Expert nor PDF Tollkit+ could compress the file. I'm attaching a screenshot of the PDF Toolkit message indicating the problem with vector graphics. I then exported the PDF to a PNG to get rid of the vector graphics, created a PDF back from the PNG, and then compressed. This worked with Preview, PDF Expert, and PDF Toolkit+. Not the greatest option if you have a lot of sheets.
Based on this, I think that when possible it would be better to replace vector (and hatch) heavy underlays like maps with a rasterized PNG or JPG when feasible, keeping the vector data only in the portions that are needed.
Thanks for your research @E|FA

I ♥️ PDF web site: free, great compression—generally better IMO than Adobe's. and their other products on the same page are also awesome. PDF convert to Excel is my second most used feature there.
I should perhaps point out that a multipage PDF is compressible for free, but multiple files at once are not.

I guess I'd start with a nice catenary curve, probably drawn with the excellent catenary plugin tool from @Paolo.
From there I'd extrude the line to the dimensions required.

Shameless plug: my Savvy Sequencer plug-in will sequentially number any existing object. You can store the number in the object name or an attached record, or you can automatically place text objects on each line.

Shameless approbation of same! This is a tool whose utility has no bounds. Try it. Scary good and simple in application. It is literally the first re-installed plugin on every VWX install I've done since discovering it.

Hello again @markdd—thanks, that worked a treat. Have an excellent new year
here're a couple quick renders post-fix, with those old old posing figures which I still use alarmingly frequently for the ability to simulate interesting/thematic movement & to fake costumes (that not shown).

@markdd Much appreciated—It does appear that page requires a login.
copy thx - however I must be missing something. I copied the original point source, moved it down to where it belongs, leaving the original in place. The new beam position works well, yay. however, the body now separates from the yoke upon focus -see the screenshots.

You can change the placement of the emitter. Go to the 3d component of the symbol and add a 3d locus closer to the lens. Add the parts record to it and then enter 1 into the emitter field.
Return to the design layer.
Now the light will emit from the new locus rather than the default locus.
There is a video here.

First—happy new year to this great community!
I think I'm shouting into the wind here—this issue gets really old after awhile.
Why does this matter to me? Well sometimes the show is intimate, the show has performers operating stage equipment, the audience is embedded in the performing area.
This is VWX 2025 SP2.1
Your favorite workarounds, if you have one
The next three are the same order & settings.

Just installed the updated plugin BeamViz 7. It does something I've been waiting for…Keep an eye on the cursor frame R. (nope, not the gate rotation)
Wow.
For those of us who need gobos focussed in a variety of edges, building them one by one in PS was so irritating.
Thanks Josh.

On their own, they will not, But I have considered gathering the data and entering into the LIR for use with the photometric tools. This is something I haven't tried, I usually want the glints an IES file adds to a render
Sidebar-ing this a touch - is it possible to change the color output of an IES file, similar to putting color in the spotlight fixtures?
thanks
