Thank you for all the suggestions...this non-associative hatch seems to be working best for what I am doing now.

I'm new to VW, but how can I change the origin or starting point of a hatch pattern (tile) to a vertex of the hatched object? I want change the starting point per object and not globally throughout the entire drawing.
