It happens on all the plant symbols including the ones I have created and from your default library. I have not used an earlier version. It started happening 2 weeks ago. I have been using VW2008 for 2 months.

I get a script error Warning: DIALOG_SETUP GETRSRSTRING - Value will not fit in an integer when I go to edit a plant symbol. It still goes to the screen which lets you choose 2D Graphics, 3D Graphics, Defintition, or Path.

Dual Objects Combine does not seem to work on some objects. I have created two polylines. Both are on the same layer and class. They will not combine. Most other polylines will combine. A few will not, however. VW2008 File and VW10 enclosed.

In the Botanical Names column on the Plant List-Simple worksheet and other worksheets there are "0"s on all the plants rows. I have Latin names for all the plants placed in the drawing. How do I get the worksheet to show the Latin Names. Also, how do you create a custom worksheet that can be used in any drawing.

I know you can create hatch patterns, but can you import them and use Autocad patterns. Where can you get hatch patterns that will import. I was looking for paver patterns that are not included. Thanks

It is a custom database. VW 2008 on Win XPsp2. New file created in VW2008.

My Default font is Arial. The plant tags font appears in the font "Alba" and must be changed for any tag displayed. How do I set up another font as the default plant tag font.

When I create a Plant List Basic Report or Plant List Simple Report it places an additional row with ID, QTY, Common and other labels with are also at the top of the column. This extra row cannot be deleted without deleting all of the rows. How do I eliminate this extra row? How can I create my own custom list configuration and save it for use in my drawings? I have VW 2008 on XP.

With a small file (1 meg) I could run VW 2008 for 7 hours straight without a problem (even with Autocad and Photoshop open). However, I have a file that is 75 megs and it causes the program to stop working. The cursor moves, the toolboxes are empty. When I Alt Tab to view other program screens (only running Internet Explorer) when I come back to Vectorworks. I only see the empty tool boxes. In the task manager the program shows it is running. The CPU usage is 45% or more and will not come down below that until I use the task manager to end VW 2008. Is this a need more memory (have 2Gigs) situation or a software memory issue?

Yes, the computer redraws faster, but without other software besides Internet Explorer it will at some point not refresh the screen or the tool boxes. So all you see is the desktop and outlines of the toolboxes. It takes 1 to 3 hours for VW to get to this point.

I went to lunch and to run an errand. After 1 hour and 15 minutes later without any other programs running VW2008 had locked up. I can use it for a while without anything else running, but after a while it will require a restart of VW or reboot the computer. It helps not to have anything running with it. Eventually CPU usage will go to about 50% then you have to restart. Copied the file to the local harddrive and the redraw with the plants was twice as fast. I have over 100 plants. There needs to be a low res. setting in views for the view in order to get faster redraws. A setting to hide hatches and fills and leave only outlines visible would be great. No PC or antivirus software running on my local machine.

I am using Vectorworks 2008 on a Dell Inspiron 9400 with 2 Gigs of memory (Windows XP SP2)and a DuoCore processor and nvidia card. Sometimes it will go into a mode of waiting 3 seconds before bringing the cursor back. Sometimes it will take a couple of minutes for the whole screen to come back and sometimes the tool sets are empty for 30 seconds to a few minutes. I have noticed that when CPU usage is around 50% this slowness problem is more serious. Is 2 Gigs enough RAM? The file I am drawing on is 80 megs and has hatches and plant symbols. Also with 36 plants visible it wants to redraw all of them before taking the next command. I need to add dozens more plants (using the symbols that come with Landmark). How can I speed up the computer/Vectorworks combination? Is anyone having these same problems?

It was not change the attributes of already placed plants. It does work on new creations of the plant symbols only.

I want Plant Symbols without tags. How do I set the Plant Symbol to have a tag of none when created in Place Plant. Now I am having to select the Plant Symbols and right click go to properties and then set the tag to none.

I have Vectorworks 2008 on PC XP2 and the plant symbols attributes like shadows and outlines are not showing or printing. I have set the attributes under the Rendering in the Edit Plant Definition. I am in the Top/Plan view also. The Ver 12.5 Trial does not show the shadows on the plant symbols either.

When I import from Autocad 2007 the drawing appears fairly correct. When I select the drawing it appears that it is "grouped" into the drawing that was in model space and separately the title block that was in paper space. I can only move these groupings and cannot edit the individual objects. This not a real group because I cannot ungroup the objects.

Does anyone know how to have the 2D plant symbols appear automatically in the plant list drawing worksheet? This will create a better graphic legend than the abbreviations.
