  1. Thanks very much. Will also pass on any solution if I find one. Chris
  2. Is anyone else out there trying to use Vectorworks with macintosh manager? We are using Vectorworks 8.5.2 on a network of macs running Mac OS 9.0.4 and 9.1, all using macintosh manager v 1.4, and are experiencing an annoying problem. When a user logs on and opens vectorworks, they receive an error message "low on memory!" and vectorworks does not open. This seems to be due to the preferences file having been corrupted, as replacing the preferences file in use with a known good prefs file fixes the problem, and vectorworks opens fine. Would blame the macintosh manager software but it is only vectorworks that suffers this problem. Is this a known bug that is fixed in version 9? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Chris Johnson
  3. I am having a problem with the Workgroup referencing system in vectorworks. The problem is that our server's hard drive is full, so we installed an extra hard drive to create more space (it is an AppleShare IP 6.3.3 server, on a network of mac clients, by the way). I then moved the shared folder from the old hard drive to the new hard drive, and then shared the folder on the new hard drive again. Everything seemed to be perfectly ok apart from some of the workgroup references in the files in the new shared folder have been lost. Random files replace the referenced files that are lost. Not all files are affected, and not all references in every affected file have been lost.... it is very unusual. The new shared folder has the same name, the same folder hierachy, and the same access privelidges as the previous one, so it can't be a file path issue? If we re-share the old folder the referneces are all working perfectly. If anyone has come across this problem before I would be very grateful of any assistance. Thanks, Chris Johnson
  4. Hi Brian, I'm having the same problem with windows 2000 opening vectorworks files from an appleshare IP 6.3.2 server. You can save files from vectorworks, or copy files off the server and open them, but you can not open them from vectorworks. If you do you get the error message simon described. It cannot be purely an AppleShare IP issue, as other applications do not have the same problem. The file paths involved are very simple, and mapping the shares on the appleshare IP server as drives on the pc (so that effectively the path is eg g:\test.mcd) do not help either. Have you any more suggestions? Thanks, Chris Johnson
