Here is a file. It couldn't import it. I restarted vwx, and could then import it. The file is tiny, so I don't see how memory is an issue. SFC4-LSE.pdf

Is anyone else having problems importing PDFs? Frequently 2017 will say it can't import a PDF, or the PDF is corrupted. I restart vectorworks, and it imports with no problem. Not sure if it's a memory problem, a graphics card getting too tired, or what.

Design Layer and Sheet Layer Hierarchy

Is there a way to set a hierarchical view in sheet layers? For drawings with over 100 sheets, it's a pain to scroll through everything. Is there a way to minimize non-active sheet layers? -
Noticed an issue with the callout tool. I've placed a callout in a design layer. When it's in a viewport on a sheet layer, it's fine. However, if I used the viewport advanced properties to scale the text, the callouts scale and move. I won't argue if this is a bug, a feature, or it's supposed to work this way. Callout Issue.vwx

What is the best solution for dealing with the same type of instruments that have different wattages? If the default for a S4 leko is 575w, if you have a combination of 575w and 750w, the instrument summary won't work. At one point someone suggested duplicating the entire ETC library for 575w, 750w, 77V lamps. It seems there should be an easier way. Any suggestions?

I've been using LW6 6.0.4.103 beta and VWX16 and it seems to play nicely. I set up my address format as universal (universe/address). The dimmers are now only for dimmers and power. Moving lights use the Address field. You can set the universe in the Universe or the Address field, and it transfers correctly to/from vwx.

Yes please! It's a pain when I get a rep plot from a venue and try to drop in new lights, or take a 2015 touring plot and update it. Everyone has different naming conventions, and deleting and re-naming classes individually can add hours to a project.

What I'm trying to do is to have saved views or rendered sheet layers where i can show different gobo looks without having to select and change the gobos in the lights. If you apply a class to the light fixture, it won't take the texture as a gobo. I have made projection 'screens' with stacked images in different classes which works, but it doesn't make use of the flexibility of the Plug-in.

Is there a way to assign classes to textures? I have lighting symbols that use specific textures as gobos. Is there a way to change the gobo by changing the class? I'd prefer not to have to duplicate instruments (as that screws up LW) Similarly, is there a way to change the projector/ TV image using classes?

Does anyone know of a listing of the spotlight preferences? I'm trying to make a basic script, e.g: Setpref(11,true); to turn on layer colors I want to be able to turn on and off the 'modify the lighting device color' but I don't know what preference # it is, and can't find a listing in the VS guide. Anyone know?

I've noticed when I have a rotated plan and use the align tool, objects are aligned not in the orientation of the screen, but in reference to the unrotated drawing. Anyone know how to rotate the drawing to 45deg and align objects as they appear on the screen?

Yep, same problem. It behaves if I quit and restart, but eventually misbehaves. Tech is aware of the problem, but no idea when they will fix it.

If the 'check for updates' in vectorworks doesn't work for service pack 1, how are we supposed to know there is an update? I don't check this forum frequently, and your newsletter gets sent to spam.

Why are the options for stacked layers hidden inside a pulldown that is not existent in all workspaces? Shouldn't it be in, say... PREFERENCES? If I'm using the standard workspace, i don't have the option of setting the stacked layer preferences, I have to poke around all the different workspaces until I can find the setting. More than a little frustrating.

Anyone else having trouble with VW crashing? I'm working with large (10M+) files converted from DXFs. When I zoom in and out quickly, delete large chunks, step between classes quickly, it crashes. Maybe a memory buffer overflow? Anyone else have this problem? I'm using a Macbookpro 2GHz, 2GB RAM OS 10.4.11 VW2008SP2v3(83388)

I'm having an issue with custom titleblocks. I've created a symbol for my titleblock with specific fonts and line weights. When I use it as a symbol, it displays correctly, but when I use it with the Draw Border tool, it changes the fonts and line weights to the current fonts and weights. This was not an issue with v12.5. Any suggestions?
