  1. I know I've seen the answer to this before, but can't find in the archives. When I try to edit the VP crop on one of my vp's (only one, in a drawing with like 30 of them) I am unable to select the crop to resize. Help! Thanks,
  2. Nope...no good answers. I think that this just may be beyond the standard functionality of the program for right now. Hope that the next version addresses this!
  3. Yikes! That sounds fairly convoluted, but it seems to me that being able to do this would be a common desire. I have to believe that there's a simpler way to do it! I'm going to run this past a friend of mine that's a beta tester and maybe he'll have some ideas...will keep you posted! In the meantime, any one else out there...thoughts?
  4. Hi All, I need to show label legend info for fixtures in viewports displaying in other than top/plan view. For example, I have a vertical circle truss. To show the label legends on my plan view sheet would be confusing, as there are lights all around the circle and they overlap in plan view. My entire model/plot are drawn in 3d, so to show the vertical trusses more clearly, I do detail sheets showing the vertical trusses and lights in front or side views. I would like to display the label legends in these views but haven't had any luck. In the past I've drawn the position and lights a second time, drawn in plan rather than vertically and have applied legends to that re-drawn element but this seems like a lot of additional memory in an already large file. Suggestions, please? Thank you!!
  5. ALL of these are fantastic suggestions. I have my curved ramps! Thank you all!
  6. Hi all, Trying to create a curved ramp. The ramp shape, in plan view, is a compound curve. I've tried doing a loft surface--I've drawn basically a start and end profile--just 5' long lines, converted to nurbs curves, one at +5'-0", one at 0'-0 1/4". If I draw a nurbs curve as the rail object that is an offset of either of the outside curves, then when I loft it doesn't exactly follow the outside curve shapes. However if I use two rails, then I can only select one profile, which means it doesn't ramp, but just creates a flat surface. With either method, it only creates the top surface of the ramp, not a solid object. Help!! File attached. Thanks!
  7. I tried re-drawing as a polyline instead of a polygon but still had the same issue. May be a bug? Thanks anyway for everyone's help!
  8. I've pulled just the polyline and circle in to a new file, still having the same problem, that when I select the polyline as the path, the options gray out. How do I post the file itself? Again, using VW2010. Thanks all!
  9. I'm probably missing something simple, but I want the polyline to be the path, the circle to be the profile. When I select the polyline as the path, the uniform scale and exponential scale options become grayed out. Thoughts? Appreciate the help!
  10. I want to make a 3d tree branch. Nothing too fancy, but do want it to be semi realistic. I've drawn the shape of the branch in 2d with poly lines and would like to do a "multiple extrude along path"(I know that's not a real tool:) ). ie, I want to use each polyline as the path of each branch, and want to use circles of different diameters for the profile, so that the branches taper. Any thoughts? Or, if anyone has a 3d tree branch symbol, that works too! Using 2010 Designer with spotlight and renderworks
  11. Hmm...the layers are all visible, but since the WGR looks grey by default even though it's set to normal visibility, the fills are still gone. If the WGR layer is active and I just set its classes to grey, the fills and hatches go away. Thoughts? THANK YOU!
  12. When I workgroup reference a file into another drawing, the workgroup reference does not display its fills, hatches, patterns etc unless the workgroup referenced layer is the active layer. Unfortunately making that layer active overrides its "greyed out" appearance. Has anyone run in to this before? Please help! Thanks
