is there a place in the books where the symbols on the cursor are explained?

my cursor only moves the tag and the cluster so I can't seem to move these lines connecting plants. Also, I don't see the symbol (+ with an arrow through it) that the training tape says I should use to move the tag around.

do you know how to change the line that connects all the plants to the plant tag so that it doesn' t look like a maze?
