The circles you say are hiding them are actually the 2D/3D representation of the light, this being a pointlight and color set to white.
See what happens when you change one of them to a Spot or just the color of the light.
Render looking good though.

Hi
So what yuou are saying is that 2012 has been built to take longer with rendering time and by replacing the textures with older(less advanced) textures it will run quicker?
Another step back for RW there it seems.

When rendering OpenGL it will also be dark and the beams won,t show even if the light sources are "on"

I notice Line Lights differ in the way they look when they are different lengths.
See attached is a render showing 3 line lights. 500mm, 2400mm and 19200mm.
Why is this??
The 2400 is looking the best for what I need but could be better.
Then there seems to be a BUG.
When a Line Light is created vertically it does not show except when it touches or intercepts anoher surface.
It will also show a black line in Renders eventhough it has a color from creation.
What I tried doing is having the same effect as the line light has running horizontally like a edge glow on the vertical corners.

That is a very good render there Horst, looks very realistic...

Christiaan
Have a look at the render I posted here:

This is what I mentioned to you about the sunbeams look.

Hi Carl.
LW =: Lightwright.
Means Lighting Design converted to Excel-like sheets.
I just can't stand it.
If you tour in US, Its almost impossible to avoid running into it.
Horst M.
Thanks Horst
Never seen or used it.
Interresting though

Hi All
I posted my query in the Spotlight forum and was asked to post in here as there are more guys checking this one.

Carl,
If you are still having problems, you may get more help by posting in the Renderworks forum. There are more users in the Renderworks forum that may be able to help you out with rendering issues and offer you better solutions to your problem.
Thanks for the headsup there.
This is a Spotlight problem though, but will post in there too.

I did some truss with socks by a texture with "glow." I imagine it would work the same on regular truss. The drawback is that you don't have falloff in the light along the truss. The whole surface glows at the same intensity. The benefit is that it is very easy for the rendering engine.
Make the texture 50% transparent with glow selected
I made the lightboxes have a falloff by adding additional spotlights and raising the box about 3mm.
Not very successful, but looks good with the line light I added. When other lights are swithed off you can see the falloff

Does Printscreen do the same?
Ctrl+Print Scrn> Paste in any application like Photoshop, paint etc.

What does LW stand for?

Thank you for the answers there guys
Now how about the other 2?
I have been having problem with walls and wrapping of textures in genral, but I notice the walls have BUGS by the look of all the other posts on here.
1) Is there a way to tell VW the direction to "wrap" the texture around the wall? In the attached example I would like to have the paved pattern to continue over the top of the wall. VW appears to treat the top as a separate element and fills it accordingly.
2) The brushed aluminium texture runs both horizontally and vertically within the same line of text. The text objects are extruded polylines (grouped). How can this be fixed?

I have always uploaded from my PC direct using the File manager, but dont see a post inline option to display the image in the post.

I would like to know the answers to this too please

For the sunrays - try using a gobo

Hi
Maybe the info in this tread will help solve your problem

Regarding the blank PDF
Save and restart your machine. This looks like a out of Memory (Virtual) issue.
When you do the Render Setup before Exporting hit Esc (hold it in till it states it has been stopped) Now export, it will Save by rendering it to PDF.

OK
So here is my attempt at the clear glass thing
Set in a marquee with glass panels where I left out the one to indicate the effect of the light entering the space against the reflection of the glass.
I also have a Floor texture in with an ?Aluminium Chrome Plate? Texture applied and 9 point light running down the apex set @ 40%.
The render Style is pretty much the same I had with the scaff-stage I posted recently.
In addition I have dropped in what I have made regarding the Light box issue.
A piece of truss covered with a stretched sock and a LED Par inside.
In VW it is a piece of truss with a hollow extrude and a Semi-transparent texture set to Glow with a bump.
This without the truss makes a Light box aswell but I place a Line light in the centre to add extra glow on the inside.

If you active layer is rendered and Unified View is not on, you will only see the active layer (plus any that are high in the stacking order.
Thanks for the answer Pat

color correction with print
in General Discussion
Posted
This might not be VW problem
I know from experience and help from a Graphic Designer that you can never go on what is shown on screen as the screen resulotion and colors are not the printing colors.
This is the reason for print proofs when design goes for print.
It is the printer that determans the color of the print.
Then again they should not differ that much but will never be exact.
Would help if you add some info regarding what you use like I have in my Signature, Im sure it will help the more advanced members on here like the Mods to give a correct solution on your problem
