  1. This is one of the known issues with VW 12 and 4GB of RAM. In the interim, removing RAM above 2GB will resolve the issue. Alternatively, VW 2008 SP 2 resolves this issue.

This is not true as I have also had this problem and never had more than 2GB RAM. It was suggested I get more RAM.

Running VW 12.5.2 with Renderworks on below listed system.

  2. So I can just add another gig of RAM and see if there is a small or big difference and then wait for 2009 to come out. sorted.

Anybody know what makes 2009 better than 2008 other than that it is a newer version??

  3. Thanks for hiunt on the trusses as ourd are all round and I know this is why it battles to render.

The latest set of drawings ranged at 50-60MB files, but even a file less than 20MB will take that long, depending what is in the drawing.

Best solution seems to upgrade my RAM to 4GB. Will I have to change any of the other parts of the PC?

  4. In Final Quality RenderWorks it takes about 3 Hours to render....

Yes I do use symbols, of lights(fixtures) etc, but that does not effect it that much, When using trusses and lights, there is just no point for me do do that type of render becuase of the time.

MCH: So you say my 1.97GB of RAM is accually not enough?

    Thank you all

  5. Hello there again.

So I had a look at the requirements for the upgrade and my PC has more than enough free space and is rated at a higher level.

Would it be recomended to upgrade to 2008 with the problems I expeirence with VW12? (Execive long render times).

  6. Good day All

Could someone please inform me or direct me to an exiting thread as to the pros and cons of upgrading from version 12.5 to 2008.

Do I have to buy a whole new package as that is what I have already done recently to upgrade from version10.

The main reason would be that I have long(extremly) render time, where it takes more than 60min to render basic Stage and trussing layout in fastRender.

    Thank You

  7. This is accurate. The work around is:

    Door Settings >

    View >

    Special Classes >

    Part >

    Internal Panel >

    Assign a Class >

    External Panel >

    Assign a Class >

If you don't have Render Works, choose class setting with "none" if you want it clear or a blue tone to fake a glass-look in elevation. If you do have RenderWorks, assign one of the glass texture and then adjust it's opacity.

Thanks for the help, altough it took me a while to figure out how to do it all.

  8. I'm not a hundred percent sure, but try setting the lighting values lower {brightness(%)}. Also play around with different type of lights. A spotlight might give a more dissirable light in certian situations. You can also try to lower the layer ambience level, but I doubt that is the fualt in this case

  9. Thanks David, but what or where is the OIP?

yes I am using the truss tool

I did go and change the actual length of the truss I was drawing, but then it gave me the incorrect length for the information displayed.

Just had a thought...can't u rewrite the script for the truss tool to not add, but include the spigot in the overall length. But how would one do that correctly??

  10. Maybe there is a libiry availible for this truss or somewhere I can go to get it, before I start drawing Truss from scrach - extruding each part manually.

I know TomasTruss works and looks the same if that is any help

  11. Hi all

I have read all the threads on trussing I could find but nothing dealing with what I need, so...

My Company recently obtained some 'Eurotruss' and I need to draw it up, but, if u draw a truss in Vector with spigots, lets say 4000mm and then measure it, it is 152.4mm longer than it should be. Now that gives you 76.2mm on either side which makes up the spigot itself, (that NR 1) Number 2 being that Eurotruss is measured from tip to tip, so a 4000mm piece is 4000mm, not 4152.4mm.

    Help??

  12. Good day

When doing renders with gobo's in the drawing, there are small bloks visible, which represent the gobo texture.

How do I get it to be invisible.

I have tried setting the attributes to none, but only the outline selection worked, the fill would not go to the none option

  13. Thanx

Seems I have kinda sorted out the problem.

I was creating Renderworks textures from JPEG images, exported out of CorelDraw11. I minimized the file size from 50% to 10% which gave me a JPEG image size of 29kb

I will follow up on the server file size optimation to see if that will help with my render time, which still takes extremely long on Final Render Mode

  14. Good day all

I?m having a 'lack of memory' and 'out of memory' problem when I do any kind of render in any view on a drawing.

I?m currently running Intel Core 2 CPU, 6600 @ 240GHz, 2.40GHz 1.97GB of RAM and a 80 gb hard drive with 66.8GB free space. I work trough a server with a 186GB hard drive with 174GB free space

My rendertime also has been extremely long(85min) on Final Renderworks renders - which I need to use to view the Gobo textures.

    Do I need more RAM?
