  1. Thank michaelk. Simple, yet practical
  2. Maybe not use the VW tool. http://techboard.vectorworks.net/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=174782#Post174782
  3. Thanks for pointing that out guys, really becoming unsatisfied with what they are doing. Do they even take the posts and concerns of everyone in to consideration when making changes? Polls are a good way to establish what the masses want before changes are made, just punting an idea here...
  4. Ahoy! First time I hear of this. Have you tried Sketchup sites? Maybe using polys and nurbs would work too
  5. Thanks Ben LOL @ your Sig
  6. AWESOMENESSNESSNESS!!! Thanks alot guys now to get my head around the nurbs curve.
  7. Good day all I know there was a thread on here showing and explaning how you make good draping like curtains etc, just cant find it now. See attached images. I need to recreate this in VW. How? Please assist Thanks
  8. This could be a number of things causing it. Virtual memory running low, your ghraphix card not coping, the drawing total size being to big. What does help is to reboot the machine, not just restarting, but actually shuting down, leaver for a few min and boot up. Also, are you rendering in viewports?
  9. Nothing wrong with 12.5 I still like the VW10 for rendering effortlessness Try the google sketchup pages.
  10. OK will make the drawing postable
  11. Thank you so much, this worked. I did not notice this setting before.
  12. Good day All Im having problems with printing/exporting Design Layers as greyed out. I have an AutoCad import of a venue on one DL and my drawing of the setup in another DL. I have greyed the Venue and appears on screen as Greyed out. I then do an ExportPDF and the Layer is not Greyed in the saved file. Where do I set the DesignLayer to be kept as a greyed out DL when Exported to PDF??? Thank you
  13. I found this whilst looking for curtian draping http://kbase.vectorworks.net/questions/975/Drape+Surface Im still not sure how to get the same effect as they did in this clip as I have not managed to do it. Maybe something-thing wrong with my version....
  14. So no one having a solution for this one then?....
  15. Thank you Dave All my Render Backgrounds are set to LitFog @ 25% with Recieve Shadows selected. This is not making sence...
  16. Hi Kevin The walls you see in the render are basic extrudes with no textures applied with a color fill. Proof of this is that the Gobo image is projected on it. So Im not to sure why the light is penetrating through the solid. Anybody else have a solution for this?
  17. Good day all I spoted a post which I thought would help me out, but alas, my Gobo Projection acts like Lazer beams and passes through everything with Cast shadows selected. See other posts here: http://techboard.vectorworks.net/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=173860&gonew=1#UNREAD I am using a Studio Spot 575 from the VW lib. I have selected a Gobo, made a foces points and allocated each light to thier own points. The gobo shows and points in the correct direction. Cast shadows and Lit Fog is selected and light set to Realistic and Smooth/Normal on the fall off's. I still have the light passing through a solid as it would have been like glass or guaze. What is the problem here???
  18. OpenGL has been created to view a model in a qiuck rendered view, NOT to handle textures so it does not use rendering time, but gives you a colored 3d view of your model/drawing.
  19. Thanks man I too have to produce a lot of 3D Renders to show clients as a selling add-on. I do the trechnical layouts too consisting of Lighting and Rigging plots for the shows in the venues. Looking forward to the other textures and Thanks for sharing.
  20. see some other threads here: http://techboard.vectorworks.net/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Main=33906&Number=167387#Post167387 http://techboard.vectorworks.net/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=166308&page=1
  21. What I have found through the years and upgrading from v12 to vw2012 is that incorrect migrating happend. This cuased symbols to either dissapear visually but can still be selected with data loss. The only way to get the info correct into vw 2012 was to migrate through each version of VW, and even then some info can be lost if you are not carefull. http://techboard.vectorworks.net/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Main=34324&Number=169257#Post169257
  22. Ho I gather you were using the same render styles in both views. Mike is right You need to be in some sort of perspective view for it to display due to the nature of the the background.
  23. Thanks alot for them textures you posted taoist. Some of them are really good and useful 10/10
