  1. yes, thanks for the idea. What i really meant was to cut off a side, so that part will not be visible in the drawing. Like the clip tool, but than with the enhancement of a viewports crop....

This would be nice when drawing a symbol, but it has to be cut off for some reason. Now i use a opaque rectangle to hide the part. But when exported to dwg, there is no clear idea that this part has been hidden, due to the fact that opaque fills are send behindothe objects for some reason.

  2. When having symbols of facades or plans, i would like to see a way to cut off these symbols when i only need a part. Now i use a opaque rectangle to hide the part i do not want to see.

Any change we get such us tool in the future??

    (i know i could use viewports.... :-)

  3. Most of the time this happens is when the chain dims are copied (and or rotated) from one file to another (same scale layer). One can select the chain dim normally, but not moving as if the grid snap is on with a very large gridsize...they just will not move. And if one succeed to move the chain dim, the lines and text disappear, but selecion handles stay visible. So we hit undo couple of times, and tried to convert chain dims to normal dims. (also use option in mode bar)

Checked class and layer status, also zooming and panning....

  4. Chain dimensions are new in VW 12.5 and i like them.

BUT, and that is off course the reason i write here, i experience some wierd artifacts.

Sometimes i can not move any of the chani dimension objects, and when i succeed (grab this chain dim by the corner) the disappear (i only see the selections handles)

sometimes when i want to ungroup them , so the be a normal dimension object, they are converted to lines and text.... (i do get the message: ungroup high level objects)

anyone an idea what the issue is here??

  5. Isn't it wierd that VW fundamentals, which we use extensively, does NOT have the Navigation Palette included. Such an important tool, when drawings become complex, it is nearly an unevitable way to manage your drawing.

Besides we do not use Architect series, due to the fact we have other standards envolving, it is a matter of just a good workflow increasing feature, needed by ALL VW users...

  6. Ok thanks, did not understand that fundamentals is not the same as industry/design series.

Wierd that such an important feature not is included in Fundamentals...why the difference?? Why only an enhanced navigation feature in design series? It has nothing to do with an "design feature", more with worksflow....

anyway, possiblility that it WILL be included in all VW appl. in th enear future??

  7. Ok, I see. So why can't I envoke this navigation menu? I do see it when in Workspace Editor, but not when i use VW. I even made a new workspace, still Navigation menu is not available. Seems really nice to have that palette working...

    I upgraded from 12.0.0 to 12.5.0 and to 12.5.1 on a Mac G5.

  8. I understand what you are saying. Allthough normally the cursor changes when i want to move a point of a polygon. When i use a lasso to move more points at once, i see no change in cursor only hints appear when i grab a point.... so is this normal??

  9. Normally when using the reshape lasso on multiple objects, i can move the vertices using the move command.

Then i noticed that when i have drawn a lasso to select some vertices, and i hover over a vertice (within the boundary of the lasso) i get smart cursor hints (like "point") Then i can move the lasso by clicking on this vertice and drag it to, say a line, waiting for a smart hint like "surface". It looks like this vertice is now on the surface of that line.

Is this a good and precise way to draw???? Does the smart cursor cues work in the case of the reshape lasso, cause i do not see the cursor change, only hints appear.
